While it is WAAAAAAAAAAAY too early to make assessment based on a single no-items 1v1, it seems that 3-stock might be a perfect setup for Smash 4, with few to no timeouts. We'll see what develops when MikeHaze and Keitaro and the like get their hands on it.

Im not a Smash brothers follower , but that Sudden Death didnt looked very good. Was it always like that? The one who gets a lucky hit first wins. Looks really bad for a competitive scene. If they really want to build up a big scene they should change that.

Competitive SSBM never has sudden death, games are decided by who has higher % at the end(Which is stupid as well since Snake for example would naturally tend to have higher % than Jigglypuff)

Competitive SSBM doesn't really reach that stage often. Most matches are over in less than 3-4 minutes.

Tournament rules just take the %age when the time runs out.
