Shameless advertising for #tl-smash on Quakenet where you can find more TLers to play online with! |

You can also check the last % at the top of the dolphin window. If it isn't stable at 100% you're gonna have a bad time.

Another thing is that it can depend on stage, for example FD can start lagging when it does the crazy flashy background thing but if you stick with like Battlefield or Yoshi's story you should be fine. Don't even try Fountain of Doom

maybe fountain with 20xx hack pack is ok? they toned down the water FX a lot

so would a ntsc melee be harder to run? since it plays on 60 fps?
|
ntsc melee is the only one that has a netplay community iirc

The mm bot didn't work last night!
Is it done forever? If so I should like to join the TL skype group. I'm a pretty low level g&w/puff but I'm getting better. I feel like I could be some good practice for foxes.

Is it CPU or graphics processing power that is more important?

CPU since emulations of anything is extremely cpu intensive. It's why we still don't have a ps3 emulator.

Another bump for potential new players

Dang, if only I had a even half decent PC I'd love to do this. This is what I get for being poor and having an old laptop.

I've heard about a 30 FPS hack that makes it doable for older computers. Though apparently it looks a bit more choppy and the sound skips a lot.
I haven't actually used it yet so I'm not sure whether it works properly and how to set it up. If you're really stoked try googling around?

Protip #1: Set Dolphin priority to high. Goes from 30-55 fps when fancy stuff happens(completely unplayable) to straight stable 60 fps at all times.

this is pretty weird. I havent got that cube port for the pc yet so im playing this with my xbox controller, and suddenly things like wavedashing and dashing in general feel so much easier. In particularly wavedashing (which im new to) where I used to accidentally shield after a wavedash, whereas now it doesn't happen. The cube controller I normally use is 2 months old so what would be the cause for this? Is it the dolphin emulator, or the fact that a cube controller has 10 year old technology and a new xbox controller is just more advanced?
|
Probably because the GC controller has analog shoulder buttons. When you wavedash and don't let go quickly enough you'll often get a lightshield, whereas the xbox controller is digital so you either press or don't press and can let go faster.

That depends on whether he's using the shoulder buttons or triggers.
