So in a month or less (especially if you get gear off Kazzak and/or do the legendary ring quest and/or had a bunch of crystals sitting around) you can have a full set of raid-level gear. A month isn't insignificant, but it's extremely short compared to older grinds (in WotLK and Cataclysm it took months to assemble a half-complete set of gear).

This may just be culture shock after having been away from the game since mid-Cataclysm.
