Don't have time to actually do normal raids; I'm busy in the evenings. Blizzard made a lot of changes this expansion in order to make pugging better, but unfortunately it seems like the playbase itself still makes it terrible.

Don't have 2 hours per week? :0
If you don't have time, then you don't have to bother - you are why LFR exists.

I have plenty of time to play during the week; just not evenings, which is when basically every guild out there raids. If my time frees up I'll just go back to Midwinter, but it's unlikely that I can free up my evenings. If you can find me a top 100 guild that raids in the mornings, I'm all ears. I've had no such luck in my searches.

Anyone wanna run some hc dungeon achievements in about 6 hours on eu horde?

It's pretty damn impossible to find a normal group, though, when they all want 650+ ilvl for the first boss. I think I've spent about four hours this morning just refreshing the raid finder. I don't think people realize that Normal is Flex, and they still think it's actually the normal raiding mode (which is now Heroic). And this surprises you? Pugs are almost never looking for people who are geared for the content, they want people who overgear so they dont have to pay attention to most of the (already ignorable) mechanics and just derp it down.
This is no different from the MoP flex pugs who were looking for players with full heroic(now mythic) gear.

I wouldn't say I'm surprised by it, but it's two days after the raid came out. How many people with 650+ ilvl are looking to run pugs right now? Probably very, very few and I'm seeing the same groups sit in the group finder for hours on end trying to fill.
I was hoping Normals would be more laid back, and all the ilvl bullshit would be in Heroics instead.

Is fire still based around crit?(was this way in Cata I believe) aka do nothing for the first 2 tiers and then snowball the fuck out of control.

There is a talent that increases your chances to crit each time you don't, so it's a bit less RNG, but it's still very dependant on crit yes :< Fire DPS dramatically increases on sims at you gear up, but it's still the worst spec apparently..

It will probably be more laid back with time, but on day two of a new raid opening, it's mostly rather hardcore people playing.

Come on, you should know better. The one great constant in WoW is that pugs are terrible and usually a waste of time, the only exception potentially being joining guild runs that need a couple extra people. Good luck with that as dps though.

The only ones with ''acceptable'' ilevel reqs are healers either way. As a dps you are simply one of many.

Hardcore people expect others to not be retarded and avoid mechanics, they dont try to get carried by overgeared groups

Honestly, I ran 4 pugs and Tectus killed them all. Out of all of the groups, only 1 person (WW monk) managed to consistently beat me in boss DPS while I was playing Affliction at 632 ilvl, and I was normally at least 2k above the nearest person. This indicates to me that there are plenty of raiders who grew up on SoO 8 months after it had been out and have no idea how to confront new content or learn their class over for a new expansion.
It was also ridiculous that people were requiring 635-640 for a lot of normal groups. I sneaked into one and the guy said on vent "make sure we have 640 at least" until I reminded him I was destroying their DPS meters as a 632. The sad part is that my old guild on Doomhammer died and the one I joined is full of casual raiders who can't agree on a time to get together (misrepresented how together they were before I joined, but they're pretty nice people). The only Horde side guild with any sort of pedigree on this server isn't recruiting DPS either, so it looks like I'm stuck for now.

Yeah, my first group this morning wanted 640 and I snuck in. One person called me out on my ilvl but thankfully the raid leader was intelligent enough to notice I was #2 on the meters, and ended up booting the guy that called me out (he was 642 and doing dead last).
It's damn near impossible to find a guild that raids mornings, so I may attempt to piece together a cross server guild or something.

Please tell that to the groups I've gotten this morning, lol. Just left a Butcher group after 90 minutes (three total attempts). Had 6 DPS doing under 10k, including a Monk doing 5k and a Mage doing 7k (both 640+ ilvl). Still trying to figure out the Monk - he wasn't just autoattacking like I thought, but was doing a rotation. It clearly wasn't the correct one, but considering I can do 5k just spamming one button, and Monks are really, really good at DPS right now... I have no idea what the hell he was attempting to do.
When I called him out on it he linked the trash meters (where he was pulling 11k) and then ragequit. It was amusing.
