It's the same as usual really, crafted PvP gear to start with. Also the end of the expansion, so gonna be rough to gear up with the little time remaining. | ||

That's kinda my point. You would think they could do this seasonal, where you can access the past PvP season gear much more easilly, like i others MMORPGs do. Instead, i have to get gangbanged because it is the same as usual. Thx for the tips guys. Anyways, Yay finally got the 2 handed weapon :DD | ||

Anyways, Yay finally got the 2 handed weapon :DD Well they have made significant improvements in a lot of ways to "catch-up" pvp gearing. But ya basically its still sucky to go from nothing to "outdated" gear, just a lot better to go from outdated gear to current gear. It so happens that because of the end of expansion etc that you only have to do the jump from nothing to current gear and because of how late it is the crafted (entry level) pvp gear is very bad. To be honest though, its not really "10 years of this" because gearing in general is miles and miles and miles easier than it was for the first years. I mean you can get probably full gear in the time it would have taken for one piece basically in TBC. People complained about welfare epics a lot back then because you COULD get them just by grinding bgs, but it took a LOT of time. haha edit: I also second that with bad gear it is less painful to get honor from other sources (isle dailies, TolBarad, Wintergrasp) and also if you do like one wing of throne of thunder lfr for rep you can get mostly 522gear for money which then allows you to actually do damage in BGs. | ||

It was under two hours, i know that for a fact. Interestingly btw, i played my shadow-toon from about 85,5 to 87 today in roughly an hour. Fully rested, again, still. And i kinda did that not too long ago with my warrior (pre-6.0.2), so i can compare a bit there. edit: But wait, there's more. Each quest in the Jade Forest currently gives 1.27% of your level. At 6.0 you get about 2.5% of your level per quest. So yes, leveling will be faster. | ||

I am not complaining about acquiring the gear, i am complaining about that 10 years (ok, not 10, but 7+1/2) the pvp reward system is basically unchanged even when there exists better ways. Anyways, back to farming. | ||

Although on writing this out I am reminded that you actually bought current season offpieces with honor and only needed arena points for main set pieces and weapons. Still remember it taking literally weeks to grind honor on a character instead of the days it takes now, and I played a LOT more back then because I was a grad student on fellowship who actually didnt have to do anything at all besides play WoW. Anyways I still say that gearing up is substantially less time consuming then it was back then, but I think it is because the time spent if far more unpleasant now days that it seems so bad still. (I personally don't see any reason at all to grind out pvp gear on a fresh alt btw. You can get better/equivalent gear for leveling purposes very much more easily doing random unstructured pve so unless you like grinding bgs I dont think its worth it all.) | ||

Yup, if you look up a guide to the lockboxes on timeless isle, and have a bit of luck, you got a mostly 493 char in less than 45 minutes. With almost no fighting involved. Plus one guaranteed after 3 or 4 quests and chance on more by tagging rares (there's always people killing them). edit: not really reliable though, if you're unlucky you only get stuff for other armorclasses - but 3-5 pieces should be doable (i had four back when i did it). And alot less frustrating than grinding pvp for inferiour gear. | ||

Right now it doesn't take days btw, there are no bonus right now going on like pre-patch. And no, honour didn't take weeks, seriously, you remember it wrong. The tokens... well weeks not really, but could be annoying, but luckily for you, you could farm it while levelling. What took weeks was the arena gear for obvious reasons.
