TL4 player count: 11.

Are we still planning on doing teams of three? If so, one more person would be great; if we get a non-multiple of three, we can have unequal terms and think up some balancing (either by player experience or something else).

I will let the players vote on era; once an era's decided and players have decided on their nations, we can set up teams.

To aid in this, can everyone who's playing tell me (either with a post here or a Liquid PM):

--Your era preferences
--One or two nations you'd like to play in each era
--Your experience level

How do you envision the nations draft working? Each team choosing one of its three nations at a time?

That sounds excellent for experienced players, but I worry that it won't be newbie-friendly: I am playing Ulm in TL2 because Ulm was one of two nations I knew, and I'd like to give the newest folks the opportunity to play whatever nations they want.

I figure we'd do it in reverse: players would choose their nations, and then we'd sort out teams so compatible nations would wind up together (i.e. no Abysia + Caelum).

In disciples you'll definitely want to make sure the teams are even in player count. It's a significant disadvantage to be short one player because it's not uncommon for disciple games have one player as the designated "banker" where the sole purpose is to pump researchers and trade excess income away.

That sort of thing is the trouble with disciples games -- you wind up with "degenerate" strategies (where people specialize like that and take advantage of the vagaries of the way discipleship works) rather than just "a couple of pretenders on a team".

I'm curious why that game mode wasn't implemented; the only difficulty would be to figure out how temple checks interact with allied dominion, although I can think of several ways to solve that.

Well you can literally have just a bunch of players teamed for mutual victory for that. I think the whole disciples idea is more of a flavor mode with the game. There has been MP games of mutual victory before especially when it gets to so late that it's impossible to really play out because you just have giant supernation blobs.

Preference for EA, but MA is fine, I guess. I'm already in a LA game.

I'm also open to suggestions for nations to play.

TL3 is my only MP experience, and it's not turning out very well.

Edit: Kissblade doesn't recommend MA T'ien Ch'i as they are difficult to manage, so I have replaced the choice with Caelum.

See I would love to stop fighting the only issue is you took farmland, MY farm land. If you got off of my farm land i would drop retaliation as I have stated.

So I have two options as i see it.

A. Focus all my efforts on eradicating Man and getting others to help me.

B. Let you have the farmland and move on.

The problem being that B sets a bad precedent. I am not a big player in this game. I'm new to it and made alot of mistakes early. However I could still be a thorn in your side if I so chose too.

To be perfectly honest I have not entirely decided yet.

However IF you agree to not attack any more of my provinces, and move the majority of your army elsewhere. Then I would be more inclined to call off the attack.
