It was going so well, idc about random stuff happening, but when the DM cheats to save players, and even tells people about it, it just /completely/ wrecks any chance of enjoying it. Also, why does a goblin get knocked out for trying to attack and missing? ![]()

He literally dm hacked Catz to stay alive. Who cares if someone dies week one, it makes it entertaining if nothing else. "I'll give you 2 rounds" EDIT: Spoiler'd

"I'll give you 2 rounds" EDIT: Spoiler'd + Show Spoiler + iirc ryan was there next round anyways and catz still couldve made his save. he WOULD have done it but it didnt get to the point so not that bad. for dying first session.. well also almost happened to us when we started our campaign half a year ago but here its just more likely since they rolled for lvl1 hp, usually lvl1 hp is max class HD so the rndness at the start isnt that bad. Nobody likes killing characters off, especially if it's your first campaign, especially if you like everyone you're playing with, especially if it's due to a stupid lucky dice roll. Personally I didn't mind it at all, I can empathize with the decision and can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing. It's unfortunate that JP doesn't know all the tricks of the DM trade to let him play off those "dm cheat" moments as if he's not doing it. But it's all subjective, I can see where you guys are coming from. /shrug. He'll get better with time.

He was pretty good for a first timer no doubt, but there were some irksome things. I think JP felt a need to make something cool out of each roll of the dice, party because it was his first session as DM and party because he is doing it live on stream for 5000+ viewers. Hopefully he will learn to just make cool descriptions in this case, and not feel it is necessary to put in additional effects. When DMs go overboard like JP did, players lose the illusion that they have any control in the game and the game loses fun to them. JP will need to learn all of this like we all did through trial and error and he will need to decide if he is doing this primarily for fun of players or viewers.

I was the exact same when I tried to dm, to my demise. Trying to hard to make it crazy and fun, when the fact these crazy moments happen so rarely makes them so awesome. He'll learn I think : D

Most insects eat vegetables, so not having any plants at all is kind of weird. The only other source of food is other insects and animals ( or monsters ). You might also have some kind of insect that eats the dirt, it is very charry so maybe in your world there is some form of tiny insect or bacteria growth or mold that eats the char that insects can eat. What makes water acidic is the ratio of (OH) and (H3O) to (H2O). Water naturally swaps its chemical formula between these three. If there is more OH, it is more acidic. If it is more H3O, it is more basic. So if all the water of the world is very acidic, that means the wells could be full of the hydroxide ion of water. You can also say that the well water has some contaminant in it that makes it acidic. Acids such as sulfuric acid are acidic because of the mineral hydrogen sulfate is dissolved in water, and vary in weight from almost the density of water to double the density of water.

Don't worry about spoilers. they got in a fight with something that they were all having trouble hitting... Catz was hesitant to engage in melee with it cause he only had 3 health... he walks up and 1 shots the thing, rolling the max roll on both a d20 and a d100 back to back... effectively 1 hitting the mob
