It's rare to see them sell something as "before X date" and then break that commitment, especially weeks before, i don't think i've seen Blizzard ever do that before. Very nice to see them go for quality over quantity as they've pushed other games live way before they were ready in recent years.

everything is on low too and i have that reduce mouse input latency thing off - also dragging around the mini map causes bad frame drops too.

They are putting so much work into this but it barely looks better than the old one and has abysmal performance. I don't think they ever pushed something out the door before it was ready. What game do you have in mind?

I mean the style of the graphics is not even looking like Warcraft 3 and it looks like a game from 2015 at best.. + the atrocious performance to add to it.. looks like Bli$$ard has some major problems overall atm and I think that is impacting the Reforged release big time.

I don’t think he was saying that they have in the past, just that they’ve not really pushed back a game after giving a vaguely solid release date. Which tbh I can’t recall either. I don’t think it bodes very well for the future, whatever the reasons may be that Blizz can’t launch stable, feature complete versions of their two classic RTS games. People who have way better rigs than I are reporting terrible performance issues, if I’d not already cancelled the pre-order for a game that is in my top 5 all time favourite games, then I would have just for that. Part of why I played so many Blizzard games over the years was that they all ran really well even on our family’s relatively underpowered Macs. It’s really, really disappointing if they don’t get these kind of issues ironed out.

Its super terrible. But its ok. The game was 100% fine as is and I fully intend to run it using default graphics. The new Bnet and whatnot is plenty to be excited for. It didn't need the graphics update and it appears to be the only shitty thing. So I'm just not gonna use it.

Same its baffling. Terrible lag throughout the game with good specs on my pc and its supposed to release in one month. Wouldnt be shocked if it got pushed back again, it doesnt seem close to ready just yet.

Battle for Azeroth (q3 2018) was the least finished product (by metrics like gamebreaking bugs, polish etc) that i've ever seen them release. They basically stopped communicating with internal testers, skipped a big fraction of the beta and just pushed it live because a year prior they had been way overly optimistic on development timelines and would absolutely not miss their quarterly earnings report. Quick example, one of the skill choices for my main class was nonfunctional on the engine level for the entire beta before being pushed live, not fixed until like 6 weeks later without a patch note. SC Remastered was a huge mess at launch. In the last couple of years they've also had QA failures on content patches which shut down entire games - SC2 on all servers aside from US for over 24 hours (some of the engine code required every player in the game to have the US-English OS language format for decimal places or it would instantly crash). The same patch had enough significant bugs / lack of polish that they had to fix most of them with recurring client patches 1, 2 and 3 weeks afterwards to get it into a good state. The other one was WoW group content literally unplayable for like four days (they went over-budget on memory usage for the 32-bit client, shipped a late band-aid fix to both 32 and 64 bit clients without proper testing and it made you run at 10fps if there were many players/enemies nearby) They didn't revert the failed patch in either case, nor compensate players for lost time that they had literally paid for with limited days/hours/minutes. Very rushed overall and not like Blizzard used to be, so i'm again happy that they would delay a game once again and put quality over having an earlier return on stock prices. It's not a game that has hundreds of millions of dollars worth of sales attached to the release day but it's still a good sign for WC3R and the future.

I'd rather have something working properly a bit later than a complete mess that takes them a year to patch to a proper state sooner.

I don't understand what the rush is.

Probably something about quarterly statistics and higher ups wanting the game to be released by Christmas or something. I don't know jack about programming or game designing but I don't think wc3 is gonna get its second chance if it comes out on January.

I'm not involved with World of Warcraft at all, so I had no idea about this happening. But you are certainly right with recent patches in games. SC2 patches have been a shitshow these last few months. I am really surprised that so many people make such a big fuss about WC3R (or remakes/ reforges/ remasters in general) I thought it could be interesting if it widens the pro scene and for laddering and stuff since it is fun and not as taxing as Starcraft IMO. I doubt I will play the campaign again. I've pretty much never seen a movie or tv show twice or re-read a book.
