Wow. I can't believe you use those keys for movement. I've heard of people that used to play with really fucked up keys, and they had to practice for a few days before they got used to the now standard ASDW style. I'm afraid you're on your own for this one - you can search around forums and whatnot for a solution or you can try to get used to the normal way. For the record, the people who tried to get used to the normal style haven't regretted it and were very comfortable after the initial frustration. Why is it so hard to believe? It was after all the standard keys for most early fps. Also there are not like they should be any different or worse than any other config since they are all close together ect. Only downside is that they dont seem to work for a few games. I'm not changing keys just for one game, I rather dont play it. I used to love when the cs kids mocked my config on lans and I challenged them in quake and won by 15 vs -5 on dm2. Havent played for like 4 years now, just a sidenote. EDIT:Cant get any fast mouse sense. Can you set that manually in some way? EDIT2:Oh and alt+gr shows up as ctrl and nothing else. And my problem when backing is that my aim freezes and nothinge else. Got everything mixed up ect. First of all, being able to beat CS kids at Quake is hardly an accomplishment at ALL. AT ALL. If you've played Quake for more than a week and you can't manage to beat a CS kid you would have to be a quadriplegic. It's beyond easy. Btw, I've beaten people who've been pretty good at other deathmatch and Quake games on Quake 1 by scores of 51 to -2 easily. Any time you play someone on a deathmatch game who doesn't have much experience with that game's movement/weapons/maps, you can pretty much guarantee you're going to destroy them. It's nothing to brag about, really. Now, there's a reason that 99% of all the top players for all FPS games (I'm only saying 99% because I've never even heard of a top player using oldschool , . for strafing, but I'm going to assume that there might be a few who do) use the ASDW style. It's because the ASDW format is best. (ASDW meaning ring finger on A, middle on W and S, and pointer on D, and this format also applies to other configs like ESDF, RDFG, etc.). What you're probably going to have to do is get a program called AutoHotKey and make a script that rebinds the keys on your keyboard that you use for strafing to ASDW so that you can still play with your weird strafing format without having to deal with any problems ingame. I can't be arsed to figure all this out for you, so if you want to play Warsow you'll have to do a little research by yourself. As for changing the sensitivity ingame, there is indeed a section of the menu that allows you to change the sensitivity, but you can also do it with the console command "sensitivity (number here)". GLHF Thx for your help. The beating of cs kids was not meant to brag. Just a fun sidenote ect. I cant really say that I'm good at any fps since there has been none I've liked since q1 and duke3d and other games based on the build engine. Well I'll try the console speed thingy since I've already got the normal setting on full and it's kinda slow. Too lazy to do the AutoHotKey as I only play for fun. But thanks anyway. Still wonders why alt+gr freezes your mouselook... hmm

wow, i thought this looked kind of dumb but...it kicks alot of ass. it's like what q4 should have been ;p.
But, the rub seems to be that everyone playing this online is a veteran DM game player and has a very high skill level, specially the guys in duel servers.
sooo....any warsow or DM game noobs want a practice partner?

Granted, so far I've only played on some deathmatch servers, but I - someone who USUALLY go back (and by a lot) in FPS games - have actually managed to win a round or two and generally do not end up last!

for those of you who cannot find any games, you cannot find games from the warsow exe game.
it is kinda like the free version of age of empires.
you open the wswbrowser file, the ms dos batch file. it will open up a list that shows servers which you can click on and play.
enjoy.

you cant beat some "cs-kid" on quake1
ok, they are no-skill or whatever
but they dont fucking know the maps...
after 4years of practice you should beat a pro-gamer on 815 if he didnt know it and only played luna.. (815=game A, luna=game B)
qtf=quake team fortress?
ps does anyone know a game with playstyle similar to half-life 1 deathmatch?

Sounds like Gunz. Gunz was had some interesting ideas, but it was just painful on the left hand to play this game.

qft = quoted for truth tf = team fortress (it _cant_ be non-quake ) sensitivity = personal preference. I use mid/with accel (about 15cm/360). the newest version has this 'bug' that servers time out in a VERY short time in the browser when it requests.

Dont know if CS has changed it all but I think fast would still be best since the opponents tend to bounce around more... Not that I know what I'm talking about anymore. I feel soo oooold.. TT
