Pretty good feature right there. Im actually really liking the sharing features so far. They should have done a better job explaining it.
One may find it sad that "sharing games with your family!" is now a bulletpoint and not a given.
Could give rise to some interesting game sharing like for PSN, the PS3 games could be downloaded on 5 consoles for one payment.
If you read it, it's not sharing games with your actual family. Its about sharing games up to ten at a time to different people, not just family. It's also about those people getting all the DLC with it. Thats a good feature.
With only one person being able to play it at a time.

- at least 30 days befriended - selected games only, up to developer. - game can be given once
the last part is not true, that is for selling it as preowned I believe. And there is one more restriction, only one person can play the game at the same time. still I find the sharing to be a ray of light amongst all the bad stuff

Yes for whatever reason you do and it's already confirmed you will need for Xbox-one too. On Ps3 those services don't need anything but an installed app for them. It's also been confirmed by Sony that this will continue on PS4 .
And although you're going to need a PS+ for regular online gaming free to play titles will not need a running PS+ to work online .
Btw after my PS3 downloaded took all day to download Uncharted 3's 50GB ( It's free with PS+ atm ) and then took another hour to install everything i came to the conclusion that Digital Purchases for major Triple A titles on console is really only for people with GREAT internet. The games are fucking huge ( My PS3 had 120 GB which means this title alone is almost 50% of it's harddrive ) . At least the harddrives will be alot bigger in the next generation although MS still does not allow customisation in that regard while Sony does .
Which also makes me skreptical about all the cloud stuff. With my Wifi i have 3mbit ( ~12 when wired but atm wired requires me to move my console near my PC and unplug it ) and plenty of disconnects and other errors .
Unless I see a verified next to the name then I am hesitant to believe that twitter feed. But if it is real then holy they need to can it as each tweet is making the rounds of Google+, and Reddit.

The information still isn't reliable, however, because the Twitter support people are in a difficult situation because they aren't really allowed to make declarative statements yet unless it's absolutely 100% confirmed (and even then, the policy may still be up in the air.) Basically, being Twitter support is an awful job and they're there to avoid giving real answers right now.
But again, that speaks to an issue of Microsoft's failure to communicate. Mattrick's comments are still by far the worst.
I'm still waiting for MS to speak about security. Look what happened to PSN when it got hacked, at least the console could still play games offline. This happens to the Xbox One holy shit, by all accounts you would have a 600 dollar brick sitting in your house unable to play even disc based games after an hour, a day.

Do not forget that as it currently stands, Planetside 2 and DC Universe will not require PS+ to be played online (since f2p titles). This of course can increase over time; I do wonder though if games like ESO will also require it. Although we still do not know what financial model ESO will take.

Imagine if Microsoft went through what Sony did... what was it, a month of no Playstation network? Would that also mean that if it was the Xbox One, one would not be able to play for a month?

Microsoft to speak about security? Really? Yes, look at when Sony got hacked and PSN was down for a week (or longer?). Look at when Sony installed rootkits through their legally bought CDs. It's not Microsoft that's got questions to answer about security, it's Sony.
Another Microsoft employee makes exactly the same arguments I've been making for days now.
Awesome read and he is making a lot of points that I have heard up hear and said myself. If you don't have internet, don't buy an Xbox One. Simple.
He hit on what exactly the cloud can be used for (sorry to say, it does have uses guys).
The whole Tv thing is really a bonus to me. I will use it but it isn't a selling point for me. I care about games and I think Xbox One not only has the ability threw their big pockets to get more exclusive games and content, but their features allow for a brighter future game wise. I like it but still need to hear more definitive stuff from them before I decide which console im buying at launch. Im on the fence. Knowing the exact launch exclusives will help too.

Why isn't this guy doing PR instead of the entitled douchebags who make it sound like they don't even want customers to buy the Xbox One because it's too good for them?
What he explained sounded actually reasonable, albeit I'm still not gonna buy it as I don't want my console connected to the internet. If I want internet I go to my computer, that aspect alone is a deal breaker for me and I'm glad he had the balls to verify that after 24hours you literally have a brick as a console.

Whereas I think all of the bashing for certain comments are overboard, I agree with your overall premise. MS dropped the ball PR wise and the whole department ought to be fired. I also completely understand your reasoning on why you don't want an Xbox One.
Fact is, there is a lot of info on the internet about the positives of Xbox's features, but for some reason, MS was so focused on discussing TV and games and completely left out exactly why the Xbox One is a good option for some gamers. I know there were a ton of complaints after the reveal about how they didn't discuss games but they shouldn't have let that derail their E3 showing. They could have handled it so much better and while people would still be making stupid complaints and trolling, they wouldn't have had much to work with.
Im still looking forward to this console though and have some high hopes for it.
That post on pastebin (if true) is in line with I have in mind for the Xbone. And the benefits do appear on the up and up. Just the checking in issue is still up in the air. And once that is resolve or "loosened" then I think the XBone will be the more competitive device.
I do not understand some of the points about servers not being handled by the publishers though. So would the scenario pertain that all publishers offload their projected server load to MS? And this would apply to all games that would need server support such as multiplayer games and MMORPGs?
That's kind of a tall order that in an ideal world would be great as it streamlines everything. Downside is, what if one of the publishers is basically a ticking timebomb with a vulnerability within its data that can be exploited? Would that provide for a backdoor access to the wholw XBL server? Or are they saying they would be sandboxing every game server tasks to certain groups? <-- this though doesn't look to maximize the server farm properly I believe since you basically dedicate certain servers for a game
Again, still optimistic. Looks promising nonetheless.

Yeah that is actually a legit explanation. He explained it all in a normal manner. From the reveal I got the impression that the Xbox wasn't meant for a normal everyday consumer, but for someone dandy as fuck. The PR alone made it seems completely inaccessible. I've never owned a console and probably never will since I do all my limited gaming on the PC, but this is the first time someone actually made the Xbox one NOT look like The Devil incarnate himself.
