This is such a lame take. I must have missed the branching narratives of gta and final fantasy.
Of course there isn't dozens of games in the middle of a game this isn't a thing to complain about. So there is multiple dioglouge options instead of unskippable cutscene whatever will we do
I am just letting the game take me anywhere it wants, I don't ever change mission direction really, so it has me all over the place, been playing for a good bit of hours so far and only at 4-5% completion, I feel like I am doing something wrong lol. I am not sure how to follow the ' direct story line ' , still enjoying the game though for the most part. Although it seems like I just brute force and kill everything instead of using the hacking very often.

I don't know if I asked, but how does it play on PS5?

It is really smooth / fast, I still notice some glitches and odd ' bugs ' but overall it has been a pretty good experience. great graphics and very smooth.
"If you buy a game at launch, you are paying the most amount of money for the worst version of the game." I think it's a quote by TotalBiscuit. I'd love to see what he says about the current situation.
I preordered and have zero regrets. Best single player game I have ever played. On my second playthrough and it's just as much fun trying a new build. Assault over pistols this time. Feeling like assault is the least overpowered combat choice and it's incredibly fun.
Also great to see the modding community so active already. The only must haves for me are performance tweaks and better minimap, but I am exciting to see what else will be coming from that corner.

Wait until you get better assault rifles. With some perks, they're as OP as the other weapons. But I agree, they're really fun.
The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of the messiest to-date, going far beyond simple glitches and game fixes. From hostile work conditions to a lack of any clear planning, the road to launch has been paved with negativity and it looks like the hits will continue as a second class-action lawsuit against CD Projekt Red has been filed.
In a new report from GamesIndustry.biz, the lawsuit has been filed via the US District Court for the Central District of California. The lawsuit was confirmed via the Regulatory Announcements portion of the CD Projket Red's website, citing that the second lawsuit has the same intent as the first one filed earlier this year. The latest announcement reports the filing claims that the game's launch was misleading to both investors and consumers alike.
The official notice of the lawuit's reception is as follows:
The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby announces that it received confirmation from a law firm cooperating with the Company that a second civil class action lawsuit had been filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California by a law firm acting on behalf of a group of holders of securities traded in the USA under the ticker symbols “OTGLY” and “OTGLF” and based on Company shares. The content of the claim, including its subject and scope, is the same as the one disclosed by the Company in Current Report 68/2020 of 25 December 2020.
Just like the first lawsuit filed, the second one doesn't mention what the reparations being asked for are, though it does indicate that CD Projekt Red will "undertake vigorous action to defend itself against any such claims."
In addition to the second class-action lawsuit filed by investors, the Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection is also contemplating adding its own lawsuit to the table.
With the recent apology video from the co-founder of CD Projekt Red detailing what led to such a disastrous launch and the recent report from Bloomberg outlining a hellish few years since the game began active development in 2016, the Polish studio has a long road ahead to repairing its reputation both industry-side and with consumers.
If the game fails to capture my attention during the first 45min I think it might not be the game for me. I have much more limited time now that I'm not getting any younger and I'd rather not spend 20+ hours on something I find mediocre at best.

He already said that, multiple times.
Also I believe he would tear CDPR to pieces for the review limitations...
Nope, if the game isn't capable of attracting me at the beginning, it won't attract me after that either. I learned my lessons the hard way. I see you enjoy the game, good for you, but as it appears many others don't think it's the bestest everest.
Aside from some PS4 users, which got plenty of reasons to be angry, all the people I know that played it actually really like it.
Shutting down the Youtube/Reddit/Twitter-hatetrains and just enjoying the game for what it is probably helps a lot. Not falling for the Youtube/Reddit/Twitter-Hypetrain was probably also a good idea (something that everyone over the age of 12 should know by now).

It's fine to not like the game of course. But you are not shitposting based on your own experience but just reposting from the hate train. And as my post shows, you can just as well find enough people that love the game. I mean read the thread.
Also you said it needs another 2 years. Needs for what? For you to enjoy it? Obviously not, as you say yourself it's not for you. For others to enjoy it? Obviously not, as this thread shows and forums like /r/lowsodiumcyberpunk show. You are just piling on the hate train for a game you say you don't even care for.

I have absolutely no doubt that preordering games is responsible for a large amount of the toxicity regarding these releases. I just don't get why people can't wait a week and see if the game is a disaster before a potentially disappointing purchase. It would cushion the blow and lets face it, many, many games are very disappointing in this way. I'm not saying this in a smug way, I just can't understand why preordering is such a big thing.

Actually, it was me who posted that the game needs 2 more years in the development. deacon.frost only shared the sentiment that if the game fails to attract you early there's no reason to play it for longer because "maybe it gets good later".
And I was not hating on the game, merely stating that to me it was a disappointment and that it should not be released in the state it was in. You're saying the game is amazing now but my recent experience with it is to the contrary - a month after release and I run into T-posing NPCs everywhere right from the get go, doesn't make for a great immersion.
I did pre-order the game, I did not cancel my pre-order or request a refund. It's on me. Maybe I'll get back to playing the game when it reaches the state where I might be satisfied with it. Based on all the advertising I was hoping to get some cool open world stuff. I don't give a shit about the story, I just wanted to run around Night City, collecting cool outfits, engaging in fun activities. As a big CP2020 RPG fan I wanted to just walk around the world and experience it visually for the first time, maybe join a gang, sign up with the Trauma Team, become a rock star, hack some corps for their dirty secrets as a Netrunner or travel around making risky deliveries as a Nomad. Instead I got a buggy mess of a forced linear story with the character I do not want to play as.
I get that people like the game, it might be a great game in its genre (linear cinematic story) but I don't like those kinds of games (more Morrowind, less The Last of Us please).
According to this the nextgen update for the nextgen consoles when we're talking about the nextgen game is coming later in 2021. IF it's not delayed as there's no exact date shown. So I dare to say the game needed at least another 6 months
I believe the next 2 months are planned for critical updates on consoles, so at the least the game was released 3 months earlier.
Not sure about 2 years, but 1 year is actually a reasonable statement just based on their own twitter.

You have to admit that those expectations are way out there though right? Even the misleading advertising ahead of the launch - which absolutely did happen - never promise that kind of freedom. With those kind of expectations it's no wonder people are disappointed. And I mean you can hack corpos for their secrets and you can do missions for the nomads. In the form of side missions in an RPG. How else? Like I don't get what people were expecting here, that every NPC is a GTP-3 powered AI you can freely interact with however you want?
Me, I was expecting a game like The Witcher 3, but interesting and fun. And that it absolutely delivered.

Well, some things people were expecting 1) more "minigames" in the city as in GTA - e.g. barbershop, gym, shops. Also you can rob a shop(IIRC your gun hides automatically when you enter the shop). Truth to be told this wasn't promised but was expected based on the fact this was in the old San Andreas, so, uh, yeah, 2) better people AI. The city plebs is dumb that I start to believe that GTA1 is better(probably not though). This has been promised by CDPR. 3) more engaging police. That police can stick longer when chasing you(this was already in GTA1, so it was a reasonable expectation), that police can be bribed and that police will be corrupted(this was promised and corrupted in the sense of being unlawful, not spawning in the wall ) 4) better driving AI. We can return to the old games, but IMO all the driving AIs are dumb so I don't know about this
Nothing of this is critical per se, but helps to feel the city more alive. I know some people compiled all the promises which are not in the game, but we already established CDPR are not the gaming good guys anymore and these are things that would help myself to play the game once they finish fixing all the shitstorm.
