Someone previously mentioned it ends there and you don't get the open world - that's not true, it puts you back just before the last mission and you are free to do whatever you want. Would you recommend playing it now or waiting for them to fix the more glaring issues? I.e. how common/bad are bugs and are there elements where you really wished they would be different and have hope CDPR will look at them after fixing their console debacle? I've heard a lot of people say that it isn't that bad on pc, but also read people saying that they see a lot parts that are really good mixed with parts that are really bad and if CDPR fixed the bad it would/will be a great game.

If your computer has the "recommended" specs listed on the store page you'll be fine. the "really bad" parts are just people being salty after getting fooled by marketing. Its definitely in the top 5 to 10% of games don't expect any better or any worse. If you wait for a sale it'll be a great deal. If you're really craving something like it you can probably tide yourself over on destiny 2 for a bit.

If you want to enjoy a good storyline with a sprinkling of interesting side quests and have a PC then go ahead, you can play it now albeit with a few funny bugs. If you want to play an open world RPG and interact with civilians/cops then wait and see how CDPR fixes things. I'm more of the first kind of person. It didn't quite grab me and pull me in quite the way Witcher 3 did with how interconnected I felt with various characters, but it came close in a few parts and Witcher's bar is extremely high. I'm now planning to put it aside and consider playing it again once a few patches are out.

Story was disappointingly short, but the story characters were nice. I don't get the reviewers who say TW3's story was too long, so they'd hoped CP2077's story would be shorter... what the fuck are you playing an RPG for?! Open world was kind of a hit & miss... what is in, is kinda undercooked. Measely 4 races, shooting from the car is heavily on rails, Gigs are shallow and only some side missions are interesting (Judy, Panam, River, Johnny, the politician couple), no retailation or threat from the gangs etc. Weapons overall perform well, character building is difficult to get right because making your own weapons and upgrading being locked behind Tech ability kinda pigeon-holes you into tech, but later once you craft the weapons the points in tech become a complete waste and you'll be respecing out of it. Street Cred gain is fine, overall character XP is a grind. Driving feels bad, like you got bald tyres on 95% of the vehicles and instead you're driving a soap box on ice. The world is populated by NPCs and cars, but they're only kinda "there", they don't make the world feel alive, on the contrary they make you feel even more alone in a crowd. AI is straight up retarded & abusable. Trips over corpses of allies, can be funneled into a death corridor, rushes you without any regard for their lives. To compensate for that they got annoyingly high damage and some annoying abilities to target you. Economy being broken. Guns, cars costing over 100K, some even higher while the sell price for your items is like ~100-300 credits, and gig payout being in the range of 800-3000 (later in the game). You have to do silly stuff like abuse bugs to get any sort of money in ths game. Cops spawn right on top of you when you get 3+ stars. Can be an instant death because of some SWAT type of shit spawning literally behind you in your blind spot armed with shotguns. Overall not worth the pricetag -as is- IMO. I had fun playing it, but in current state and for current price would not recommend. I'll revisit it in March / April when I'm done playing Nioh 2 on PC and this hopefully gets patched by then and maybe recieves it's 1st DLC. Gotta think about a build for a Very Hard playthrough then.

I didn't do every quest so can't say this definitively, but I always was able to find an alternative route when I didn't have enough intelligence or tech or body to get through somewhere.

Also not saying it will fail, but some other companies screwed gamers over and nothing really happen. Alien Colonial Marines? Nah, it will be fine. No Man's Sky? Nah, it will be fine. CyberPunk on base consoles? Nah, it will be fine.

Gamers need to start taking responsibility for their own decisions, stop preordering games (and in doing so, accepting the risk that the game sucks) and stop being so entitled. BTW No Man's Sky is a fantastic game. If you want the game industry to consist of only indie games that might innovate and AAA games like Call of Duty 37 and FIFA 2025 thent he best way is to sue companies that fail when they try something new. edit: If CDPR employees want to sue their company, that would probably be a good thing, but customers complaining that a game doesn't live up to their expectations are forgetting that the biggest problem there is their expectations, not the game.

Gamers mostly complain the game was being lied about by the CDPR execs and was sold to them in a barely playable state. That's not entitlement and the same shitty practice happened to NMS and ACM(both apply mostly about the lies while being playable). And they may have patched NMS out of the shit, but as you can see most people remember that it has been lied about and that it was a disasterous launch. Lying about a product is a big nono, but somehow people defend this practice when it comes to games. And I agree, people should stop preordering stuff, but it's not just about that. COmpanies have to take their responsibility for false advertisement. And if your PR says on multiple ocasions the game runs fine and it doesn't... maybe stop doing that? Imagine you being sold a car that has "1000 hp, trust us" but then you would measure it and realize it has just 100 hp in reality. Would you feel entitled enough to try to get the money back because the car company lied to you or would you accept the loss? ![]()
