Depends on what you want to do with the pokemon TBH. Look at the ability of the pokemon, its base stats and move pool and decide what you think is possible. If you want a tank get Defence / Special defence / HP. If you want a sweeper get Attack / Speed etc etc.
Dunsparce himself i'd say just get serene grace and annoy the hell out of your friends with max speed EVs and max Def (or HP) EVs then use a combination of coil / glare / body slam / roost / rock slide / headbutt to keep your enemies stun locked.

Is there any way to not use the roller skates?

When you get the Dowsing Machine (Itemfinder) having it open removes the skates.

I just traded a Panpour for a Panpour on the Wonder Trade lol.
Edit: Level 1 Honedge, fuck yeah.

yup, use the control pad instead of the analog stick. control pad controls walking, analog stick is for rollerblading.
I feel bad for the guy that just got my hawlucha named sweaty bird

On another note, does Happiness/Friendship work the same in Gen VI?

I dont think Pokemon Amie has any impact on friendship. Friendship and evolutions work the same still.

What would guide me in deciding which EV's to focus on? dunsparce is actually a solid pick for the story, not too weak not too strong and has some decent strategies with glare and what not. You'll want to type his name into google, link on that first link to bulbapedia, then scroll down and see what his base stats are. If you want to make him a tank, go with defensive EVs like HP and defense. If you want to make him offensive, go with EVs like attack and speed. The base stats will help you decide because usually you want to capitalize on their strong points. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I guess I will do some more reading to tease apart hp vs def vs sp def.

May I recommend using Smogon to get some understanding of how to use Dunsparce. http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/dunsparce

Affection and Friendship are separate mechanics. Friendship works like it did before, Affection is through Amie.

Well I was mistaken. My bad
(although it would have made it much easier to get happiness up using Amie rather than forcing poor eevee to have 9001 haircuts so you get Espeon )

Interesting game. Enjoying it so far, despite Team Flare being absurd on multiple levels.
Is this the first Pokemon game to really delve into the history of "Pokemon Wars?" I know the old Surge gym leader briefly touched on it but I feel like most people just discarded his statement as fluff and didn't think that an actual full fledged war broke out where people and pokemon killed each other.
That one cut scene in the Team Flare basement is probably the darkest story in the history of the series lol.

Lucked out on wonder trade sending out all of my rejected Torchics, got both new fossil pokemon and all the X exclusive pokemon. I also have almost 3 boxes full of panpours from all over the world lol

Got Y, pretty good so far! New fairy type seems broken, my azumarill is pretty surprising. And finally got a Sylveon and it's doing pretty well.
And also took me forever to find you could remove roller skates ><

Wonder Trade is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time. I got a level 30 Quagsire for a level 3 Scatterbug.
