You're more than welcome to have as many of the reject 5IV rotoms as you want. Or any of the other 208 of them. I have no use for them now and other than the 4IVs and 5IVs i plan to wonder trade the rest prob. lol xD can i get one of the rejects then?

Not a problem. I'd be glad to trade. Just PM me when you're on or just initiate a trade with trainer Greg. That's me. I know you're Kiett and you're already in my friend list.

I'm thinking of Pokémon to use that require a lot of prediction and mind games, because those are my weakest aspects of battle and I want to be forced to improve those areas. A Pokémon that really stood out to me is Mega Banette. I loved the little guy in previous generations and was always a little bummed that it never got any love before now. With a Mega evolution, though... Like, priority Destiny Bond is one of the greatest things ever! Priority Taunt to shut down walls, Shadow Sneak for more priority and taking advantage of its stellar Attack, and a usable SpA to kill things like Skarmory, Sucker Punch, priority Thunder Wave, Substitute, and Will-o-Wisp... Banette-M gets so many fun toys to play with, and all the priority ever! It's clearly not the best Mega, but I feel that it can and will fuck up a lot of stuff that isn't ready for it, and even some stuff that is. It requires prediction and mind games to work, though, so using it can really help to improve my game sense.
Are there any other prediction-based Pokémon you folks can recommend, preferably those who got something new in X and Y? I know Choice items require prediction by definition, but I'm looking for Pokémon with more versatility in moves to play mind games with.

When hatching eggs, how many can you hold at a time? I can't seem to get past two, unless that is the limit.

I'm not sure if I understand this correctly, but you can have 5 eggs in your party at a time+30*whatever the box amount is

You can hold a maximum of five eggs in your party, and as many as your PC can hold. The Day Care Man will not stop receiving eggs after a certain point; it's simply random when he receives an egg. Keep trying.

Oh okay I was getting worried because I thought two eggs to hold was the max. Haha, Talonflame is very useful though, so the more eggs I can get at a time would be nice. =)

Oh okay I was getting worried because I thought two eggs to hold was the max. Haha, Talonflame is very useful though, so the more eggs I can get at a time would be nice. =) There are two ways to increase the frequency of Eggs being discovered. The first is to catch every Pokemon in the Kalos Pokedex (excluding Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, and Mewtwo). Talking to Professor Sycamore after doing this will grant you the Oval Charm, which is a key item that passively increases the number of Eggs produced at the Day Care.
The second method is to tinker with Pokemon species and Trainer ID matches:
+ Show Spoiler +On October 24 2013 03:19 blahz0r wrote: Is there an easy way to raise friendliness if my two pokemon put into the daycare center do not get along with each other? That isn't an indicator of friendliness, but rather breeding compatibility. Eggs have a chance of being generated every 255 steps the player takes, and that chance rises or falls depending on the compatibility of the two Pokemon in the Day Care at the time: - If two Pokemon of different species with the same Trainer ID are capable of breeding, the Day Care Man will say they "don't seem to like each other much." In this case, the percent chance of an Egg generating every 255 steps is about 19.8%.
- If two Pokemon of different species with different ID numbers are capable of breeding, the Day Care Man will say they "seem to get along well." In this case, the percent chance of an Egg generating is about 49.5%.
- If two Pokemon of the same species with the same ID numbers are capable of breeding, the Day Care Man will say they "seem to get along well." In this case, the percent chance of an Egg generating is also about 49.5%.
- If two Pokemon of the same species with different ID numbers are capable of breeding, the Day Care Man will say they "seem to get along very well." In this case, the percent chance of an Egg generating is about 69.3%.
- If two Pokemon are incapable of breeding, regardless of other factors, the Day Care Man will say that they "prefer playing with other Pokemon than with each other." An Egg will never be created under these circumstances.
Note that all of these calculations are as of Black2/White2; it is unknown if the values have changed with the advent of X and Y.

Now the game has inspired me to complete the Pokedex to the best of my abilities. Thank you time and time again Archas for the valuable information you have provided for my noob game knowledge.
One more question for the time being regarding breeding: I know that you must use a pokemon + ditto or two pokemons from the same egg group. How do I know what Pokemon is hatched when I use egg group breeding? According to this link, let's say I pick group 4: breed Jynx and Machamp. What would be the result?

The egg will always contain a Pokemon that is the same species as the female Pokemon in the pairing. If breeding with a Ditto, the egg will always contain the non-Ditto parent. There are several exceptions, of course. One is that baby Pokemon, like Smoochum and Pichu, are incapable of breeding until they evolve. Another lies with Nidoking and Nidoqueen; for some reason, Nidoqueen is incapable of breeding, and while Nidoking can, it must do so with a Ditto. The offspring from Ditto/Nidoking can be either Nidoran-Female or Nidoran-Male.

Aegislash is by far the most prediction based pokemon. Swap that shit against a contact based physical attacker and all you do is guess guess guess. I've had the most fun going SB Blaziken swapins against Aegislash.
+ Show Spoiler +Also fuck Aegislash. Makes you extremely frustrated to lose against it!

I guess if you go air balloon aegislash? the ever common earthquake does not need to make contact. and 2HKOs aegislash comfortably with most pokemon
|
Or you could, you know, not switch it in against someone with earthquake. If they switch in an earthquaker, you can switch out to a flying / levitator which is still mind gamey. If I'm Excadrill vs Aegislash, theres a chance I might just use Swords Dance or Rock Slide if they have a Talonflame/Bird. The reaction vs the oh so common earthquake is a prediction game in itself.

I've killed so so many Aegislash with phantom force that its kinda sad. If that fails I can always bring in Sucker punch mega kanga which will kill Aegislash 99.99% of the time.
Aegislash is worse than Swagkey imo far to easy to counter.

Swagkey uses almost 0 predictions...completely off topic pokemon.

They are both gimmick pokemon rather than prediction IMO

Aegislash is worse than Swagkey imo far to easy to counter. I actually really like Kangaskhan-M in terms of improving my prediction, because of Scrappy and Fake Out. If I feel like Gengar or another Ghost-type is coming in to ruin my fun as I Mega evolve, I can decide not to evolve, retain Scrappy, and Fake Out for some good chip damage. Or, if I'm switching into a Gengar who is evolving, I can mess around with Sucker Punch/Crunch, and try to play around any Substitute shenanigans.
|
I have no idea what "gimmick" pokemon is. Aegislash is a prediction based pokemon with clear checks and counters and its "gimmick" is just the characteristic of the pokemon. Swagkey is a typical Prankster pokemon, and Prankster is a damn good gimmick. There is nothing wrong with "gimmick" Pokemon.
