Why the hell were wodecia and wael giving me the silent treatment? All other gods spoke to me but those two didn't even give me the time of day. 2. How is the Arda dragon even possible? I get one-shotted within the first 3 seconds of the fight. I wound up just doing the stupid quest but I kept a save to give it another spin when I'm bored. 3. How long do I have to travel around with the grieving mother to progress her story? I never used her at all but now I want to go back and do her quest. Apparently she's one of those women who make you wait for months before anything happens. I got no patience for those. 4. How the fuck do I deal with ghosts? I've beaten the game and I still haven't found a reliable way to hurt them. Nothing hits them ever. The only thing I can do is use magic and that shit runs out really quickly. 1. Dont know. 2. The thing that one shot your team is its frontal attacks that have a wide conic aoe. She will aggro what is in melee. The way I dealt with her was to make sure only Eder was on melee and in position so that everyone else was facing her flanks. To ease things I also move everyone south west, so that it's easier to aoe all the adds. I also buff everyone with scrolls and pots and resurection scrolls. 3. I also did her before the final dungeon, she quickly advanced her quest after resting. Make sure you always talk to her after a "dream". She never gives you a proper quest though, her quest is just that, dialogues. 4. Fire is pretty efficient, boost accuracy/try diminishing theirs.

According to the story, + Show Spoiler + you are kind of actively working against woedica That is not to say he doesn't intervene at all. He does appear in the scroll quest and you do end up interacting with him right before the final fight 4. As noted by others, fire fire fire. If you run out of fire, perhaps you could try using some confusion spells to isolate a few and focus fire the rest down. AOE debuffs and chants are also good. Later in the game, I just buff the accuracy of one of my dps and they can basically one shot them. Alternatively, you can always leave your squishies at the inn and outlast them.

It kinda helps you only at the beginning to middle of the game though since you hit lvl 12 fairly quickly and mobs tend to catch up to you then. 1. Why the hell were wodecia and wael giving me the silent treatment? All other gods spoke to me but those two didn't even give me the time of day. + Show Spoiler [Wael story spoiler] + Wael talks to you at the end, shortly before finishing the game. Although I'm not sure if he only appears if you have done his other quest before. 2. How is the Arda dragon even possible? I get one-shotted within the first 3 seconds of the fight. I wound up just doing the stupid quest but I kept a save to give it another spin when I'm bored. + Show Spoiler [Adra Dragon strategy (PotD)] + You have to pre-buff the shit out of your tanks before the fight starts. Focus on killing his adds first while controlling him with summons or CC away from the main fight. Once you engage him there are a couple of things you need to pay attention to: -never have more than 1 person in a 90°, 8m cone in front of him (breath attack) -never have anyone in the back of him (his tail lash grazes my fully buffed, BiS item, max level maintanks for 200+ dmg) -he has no ranged attacks! What I ended up doing on Path of the Damned was to position 2 Fighters at the Dragon 90° apart from each other so that they can rotate in case of one tank being prone. Summons work very well for taking aggro away from a downed tank and eat 1-2 hits from him without putting your tanks in danger. The rest of the party can just stand at range (8m+) and fire away at the dragon without being at risk. I spammed a lot of eldritch aim potions on my casters to try and get some stuns or single target nukes. At the end of my fight the tanks died and I had to kite him with the rest of my party while blocking with summons. Since he is slower than your characters and has no ranged attack you can kite him indefinitely and chip away at his health with ranged weapons and spells. If his attacks are too much to handle for your tanks, try to kite him right away while only using summons to block him. After that first attack he didn't really do anything throughout the rest of the fight ... I had that bug aswell on my first playthrough. He just derped around while trying to reach my PC who was a Cypher and well out of range of him.

Eder and Durance seem not to be affected that much but this might have to do with higher constitution? Is this normal? What is your Athletics at? It is the main skill for reducing fatigue (having it at 6 orso should stop it from ever being an issue)

Or it could be a bug *shrug* finished my first playthrough today. I mostly liked it. Only complaint is I wish they had started the story earlier because it felt like the first 2/3 of the game was just a long prologue. And they could have fixed it easily because most of the story is told through flashbacks anyways. time to start a potd run with a custom party.

I somehow felt glad when it was over, whereas I still want more of PoE.So I got the game too. I have to compare it to Divinity: Original Sin, which, despite its many weaknesses, I personally find to be the best RPG since the Gothic games. In comparison to D:OS, I expected Pillars of Eternity to have less interaction with the world and an inferior combat system, but a more engaging story and more fleshed out characters. I was correct about PoE's weak points (although the various classes' mechanics are pretty creative), but so far, its supposed strengths haven't come to bear. Granted, I have only played a couple of hours, so it's too early to tell. But if PoE doesn't pick it up and bring something memorable or engaging to the table, I don't think I'll play through the whole game. I still liked D:OS more than Wasteland, DA or Shadowrun, but PoE simply felt much better. And that's coming from a guy who never really liked the old school BG1/2 or IWD, and quit halfway through Planescape (I know, blasphemy.. I reckon I'm not a patient man, but I kickstarted ToN to make up for it.)

Endless paths spoiler + Show Spoiler + I did not fight Od Nua, and I did not fight the Adra dragon. Should I feel bad about myself? I don't care much about combat in this game, it feels less epic than BG1 and 2... I just want to progress on the story. To tell you the truth, the Adra dragon ending was a bit anti-climatic. I was hoping for some sort of anima-related Engwithian mystery.

I felt the same about combat the first time around, but playing potd with reduced teams/solo makes combat really fun. Like fights take a long time, almost all spells have some utility in most fights (first time round on hard I was just spamming 2 cipher skills on everything and not microing anyone else).
