Current progress. Having a huge vassal swarm is incredible fun, for example I just had another war with Portugal who called in all his Iberian bros and the moment the war started the whole peninsula got swarmed and fully sieged in a matter of days, without me doing anything. I've been waging war constantly and still I think my progress might be a little bit too slow. I guess a WC should still be possible.

the great khan (as Mongolia) race between ddrjake and banewilliams makes me realize how conservative I play, cracks me up how both runs use getting broken by peasants as a strategy, and I'm pretty sure both have hit the 20 war exhaustion cap
apparently looting Ming was a viable financial strategy to fighting coalition wars against all the hordes, who knew

All of Paradox games are currently on steam sale -75% OFF. Just a heads up for everyone. I'm personally considering buying EU IV myself this weekend.

I only have EU4 vanilla, no expansions or DLCs. Given the big sale I think I'll get at least the expansions now. None of the other DLCs have any gameplay effect, right? They're just skins and music. Wondering if it's worth just getting the $25 everything bundle.

The ones that have game play effects that I know of in alphabetical order. American Dream, Conquest of Paradise, Res Publica, Wealth of Nations.
I recalled there being one for Muslim events but can't find it now.

There's also Purple Phoenix pack (Pre-order pac), which add stuff for Byzantium

Im Russia , and im allied with Poland and Viyajanagar, there are 3 main hostile powerblocks (Oirat/Ming, Mughal/Ottomans and France/Skandinavia)
Of all these , France and Skandinavia are by far the biggest problem , i lost a succesion war over Austria despite my high military tech (My tech is equal to france and i have Defensive and Offensive ideas maxed) how can i defeat those two?

Your game is so heavily modded it's impossible to judge anything. What's on there?
|
What's so cute? That you've either modded, cheated or restored from crusader kings or all 3?
Actually you've either cheated or modded for certain because there's no way you can colonise and annex this fast.
So cute.

You are Russia. You should not lose a war. Fight like russians. Let them come and starve in the sibirian wastelands. Then crush them. If you are not playing on very hard, you should be able to run them out of manpower eventually. Just destroy stack after stack once their troops split up, and continue retreating, then recapture your stuff while they regroup after you destroyed their armies. In the worst case you should be able to get a white peace, but you should be able to run pretty much anyone out of manpower, and then just siege their cities while their soldiers lie dead in the sibirian snow.
Main points of the strategy: Fight on your own territory, maybe scorch provinces, retreat, let them siege and split up, group and fight smaller stacks or stacks with worse generals once they are split a bit, preferably in good fights. Deplete their manpower before leaving russian (or allied) soil.

That's one hell of a Yaroslavl.

Still, burning manpower pools to zero should help a lot (unless you're fighting France)
you should be able to isolate scandinavia by blocking the oresund, then vassal feed Norway/Sweden out of them. Make sure to annul treaties to France in first war.
If you want to be really fancy you can probably trap the Scandinavian main stack on Aland.

What exactly does the Trade capital do? I just got the DLC's today and while most of the stuff has been ok, I can't figure out if it's worth it or not.

trade capital determines what trade node you automatically collect from.

You get a trade power penalty if you collect outside of your trade capital's node. Before WoN capital and trade port were just the same, now they can be different.

So basically, it's a cap, without having to move the cap, but I could collect from 2 places with no penalty?

no, you only auto-collect at your trade port node
