It will make removing huge countries a lot easier. It's not like you really need diplo tech :D I'm glad trucebreaking got nerfed. I always thought it was extraordinarily OP if done right.

I did the Cherokee achievement, and remember Westernizing at 8. Expansion and patch just released today, so it's possible that it might be a bug, maybe? Anyone playing the expansion? How's the new trade system?

They changed annexing though... it was a major drain on diplo points to annex Scotland (15 per month for two years). It's been 20 years and I have only teched up in military... thank you Henry VI.

Good thing diplo tech doesn't really mean anything so sitting on diplo tech 3 until 1800s is completely viable.

I suspect they overnerfed it a bit though. Yeah, but I liked it because it still let you actually grow, and there weren't a TON of places were you could truly abuse it to the maximum (though persia, ukraine, etc. were a bit abusive). I don't really understand Paradox's inherent hatred for the player being able to make significant expansions in reasonable amounts of time. It's not very fun to not be able to expand. Diplo tech seems kind of important if you plan on colonizing or getting involved in international trade, though. Probably not important if you are planning on just going for European conquest, though.
