Once you are in a good spot and your team is capable of spotting, you only need good map awareness and you can cause ridiculous havoc. Edit: Or you simply camp in your spawn...
Yeah lol was never lucky enough to get out alive. I'll keep trying and hopefully my team spots so I can get some good targets :D

Did Dice patch anything the last few days? My BF ran smoothly the last week and now it just closes itself every 30 minutes without an error message.
Edit: Okay, was just the server and my internet. Working fine now.

XP boosts stack multiplicatively with double XP so the result of 200% xp boost and lining up some 10k stars is this + Show Spoiler [images] +

Yeah the point gain becasue of all those boosts and double XP is crazy. Im lvl 105 now and soon maxed at 110, in BF3 it took me 6 months to max out.

Im trying to figure out the best way to take advantage of this double xp. All I have 100% exp ):

It almost entirely depends on how well you play the game. If you can stomp TDM lobbies, do that; if you can cap positions like a master, join Domination games; if you've got a strong, team-based party, go to a Conquest server. So pick your best mode, class, loadout, and friends, and farm, lol. Save the silly stuff for another day.

I used my 200% boost over the weekend, hit a couple of 100-150k xp games which unlocked so much stuff

You don't unlock guns via experience right? Because I've unlocked all the kits for my classes. So all I have are vehicles and guns.

I had a 200% xp boost from a battlepack, plus the 100% xp boost from the double xp week, so every amount of points I earned had an extra 300% added on top (100 point kill -> 400 point kill etc)
Guns, vehicle abilities and class equipment are unlocked via exp, attachments are unlocked via number of kills.
I think it's something like; Your overall point score each map goes towards your rank. Reviving, healing, resupplying, repairing, spotting, objective points go toward your class unlocks. Kills go toward whatever weapon type you're using. Any point gain when you're in a vehicle goes towards that vehicle type (I unlocked something for the scout choppers from repairing whilst in one for example)
|
That's what I meant by "how well you play the game." If you go 5-36 but play the objective and win the match, you'll increase your overall rank quickly. If you go 36-5, then regardless of the objective, you'll unlock new weapons, attachments, and equipment fast and go up your rank quickly because of the massive amount of ribbons you should be receiving and the number of kills you're racking up.
For a game so strongly emphasizing its team-based combat, you sure can't unlock stuff speedily if you're not strongly proficient with gunplay, vehicular combat, or equipment familiarity. o_O

Should I unlock guns or planes during this double exp time? I just can't figure it out ):

On December 02 2013 16:42 Torte de Lini wrote: Should I unlock guns or planes during this double exp time? I just can't figure it out ): Guns ! You get only 100XP towards the gun and it gets doubled during DICE XP boost, boosts pack don't work on in, not now, not before, so this is perfect time to do this. Planes are extremely simple, 1 good map and you can unlock all even without XP boost, guns however take a lot of kills to level.

Guns it is! I won't bother with shotguns because there is no map that can take advantage of it in my opinion...

Think of it this way: rank exp unlocks battlepacks (attachments, decals, etc.); gun exp unlocks more guns. Finding the gun that best suits you sooner, is better, and will complement your ranking up because you'll (hopefullly) get more kills.
Operation Locker is a pretty good map for a shotgun. You've gotta stick to the corridors, though, else you'll get mauled in that killzone in the middle and sniped in the outdoor portion.
Speaking of shotguns, I remember seeing them have ridiculous range in BC2. People made montages of them sniping helicopter pilots with them, lol. Is that the case in BF4? I haven't given them the practice necessary to determine for myself.
|
|
No, they're a bit toned down in BF4. They were ridiculous in Bf3 as well (in power)
|
Yesterday I used the first shootgun you get in Operation Locker and it was awesome. Even in hallways where in 1v1 I should lose against a SMG (medium distance), I killed the guy and survived with less than 20 hp.
Well, not a huge victory, but I easily did a kill streak with a shootgun.
