Also: are there any highly recomended mods? none. The DLCs are just kind of extra campaigns u cld play. So u actually don't need them. And the factions you cld play additionally were unlocked with a mod shortly after release as far as I remember. And in my experience no kind of DLC can make this a reasonable use of time. Game feels just too unfinished and bad. Play Rome 1 instead, way better.

I've heard DEI tries to be more realistic and with added features while radious is more about a ton of units added and a more arcady philosophy to fix the game. DEI for example make battles way slower. On March 17 2014 16:05 Silvanel wrote: So i have a question. Some mods improve on the game. But they are overhauls mostly, try the vanilla game a bit first and then if you find it okayish maybe a mod will give you a good enough experience. The game is still and will stay somewhat of a disapointment. I find it decent with mods but I'm not as fond of it as I was for R1, M2 and S2. But I don't enjoy replaying R1 anymore either... so yeah.

Also: are there any highly recomended mods? Half a year and it's already half-off. Should tell you a lot about your potential purchase. ![]() Only "DLC" I'd recommend is the Greek culture pack if you want to play as Sparta. Otherwise, the base game's 10 playable factions are sufficient (Seleucids and Pontus [the day 1 free-LC was Pontus, right?] counted).

Personally game isnt immersive enought for me, i dont feel attached to generals or faction i play ... well im not gonna repeat all the flaws, everyone knows them.

This is my final nail in the game's coffin. If it wasn't obvious before, it should be plain to see now: the crew making Total War have gipped their audience of a lot of money for not much inspiring content. I've uninstalled Rome II since I can't bear to play it anymore; I get nightmares of the launch every time I start a new campaign. GG, CA and SEGA. Love you no more. ![]()

They still try to burn the gates when their siege towers and ladders are already at the walls. When the AI uses ballistae they shoot only at the towers and if there is no towers they just stop shooting after the first shot. It doesn't matter if you clump all your units in one spot... The ballistae wont shoot. The field battles are better, but still the AI can't take a city to save his life. At least it was like that the last time I played patch 13... Maybe they can do miracle and fix it with patch... They didn't do it with 13 patches, so I won't hold my breath.

Maybe they can do miracle and fix it with patch... They didn't do it with 13 patches, so I won't hold my breath. well they can take cities now because if you face bad odds after like 10mins of siege (even in situations where you are clearly holding) suddenly EVERYONE routs and you lose. Had it when i was left with ~300 against his 400 ranged dudes who were climbing the ladders yday (i had hoplites left so easy melee fight to win) and now in a fight from my epirus (about 500 men still left) against rome (around 800 left). my few remaining cav had most of his force on a run away from the city, some others were being shot to hell by the city walls (reinforcements from another angle trying to do retarded stuff). I wasn't even giving my units any commands and suddenly BAM everyone wavering BAM everyout routs. uhm wat i just killed like 500 hastati on the fucking walls and once they are dead&broken my men suddenly join them when there's not even anyone within their shooting range? im really happy they finally fixed the AI not doing shit during sieges but for the love of god tell me they fix this soon, its stupid that i cant defend my city every time the AI has much more than me because my units will just break after 10mins for no reason AT ALL. my 30ish cav (started with near 300) had been running away & even killed their general like 30secs before, go from confidend to wavering to shattered in 2secs.

this trailer is easily the best trailer of any game I've ever seen bar live action ones. the free-lc thats released is really nice and I'm pretty sure it all culminates with this last one in the "emperor edition" free expansion. they should probably start making a new game after this. The games actually fixed but even then they have a pretty decent mod manager (in an admirable way of taking something from their community and making it shiny for the game). Its got good steam workshop support support and the mods are pretty nice. not the scale of past games or the creativity of the first few months. It should be held up as an example of how a studio can use dlc to further development of a game and to fix the problems inherent with the game. Not that paradox hasn't been doing the exact same thing for years.
