Is any of the total conversions any good? If not, then maybe some recommendations. I noticed that the campaign Ai likes to do not much at all and this makes a lot of battles city sieges, which i dont like. Also, moral damage from rear attacks/charges seems to be low? I have alot of slugfests with an enemy army that has cav in its back. Thats not how that worked.

I couldn't possibly know because i don't reccommend anyone to touch this game without mods. With mods i'd say that you can buy this game right now. The 1.0 version of Divide Et Impera is likely to kick ass when it's released.

I'm wondering if this is actually any better than Shogun 2 + expansions or if I should just stick with playing that. i'm just way more into the roman background, which is why i enjoyed rome tw over any of the other tw games

You need to absorb the whole of manchu as soon as possible and keep a good relation with ming until they rival you. To do so you'll have to keep an eye on the ledger and manchu's manpower. At some point manchu will be warring some other horsetribe faction and that's when you sit tight, and act like a wounded tiger, when infact you are about to do some serious blitzing. Just keep an eye on the ledger. 2. When Manchu's manpower starts dwindling you assemble as many meatshield/mercenaries you can afford until upkeep forces you to take 2-3 loans. 3. Joseon Blitzkrieg; Rush Manchu while their armies are away, siege as many provinces as humanly possible with your national armies and let the mercs with your best general do the fighting and support them with national armies if needed from counter attacks. If done ''correctly'' you take 3/4 of the better provinces for a cease fire. Use that time during a cease fire to get a larger treasury so you can repeat step 1.. then annex all of manchu in the second korea/manchu war. TLDR: Use mercs, watch the ledger, be the great white tiger After that you can do the same against ming. Ming's army is gigantic but they'll have inferiour tactics so you can repeat what you did against the manchu. Just this time with Oirat allies or whomever. Take as many coastal provinces from Ming, whilst colonizing or even better; invade a united japan. When you have a large portion of Ming; pretty much the rest of asia is yours. You could even bully your way towards the muslim empires or russia before they westernize. The later game was more fun/challenging when spain/brittain/russia rivals you, especially if you(like me) thought westernizing for 100+years was a great idea. ![]()

M2 has historically great mods like hyrule third age stainless steel and so on that are amazing but are limited by the engine. M2 also got Europa Barbarorum 2 now. I have not played the newest release I think it is still a little buggy but if you love history Europa Barbarorum is absolutely amazing. It's like an interactive history book.
