Ah, yeah. I thought LBR was legit based on their presence at the Las Vegas fanfest which I attended, but when I listened to their podcast, I believe the one on or around the news of 7.1, it was just INSANE bitching for a 2 hr podcast. I've only listened to that 1 episode so not sure if that is typical.

It is, I listened to 3-4 of them before I couldn't take it anymore.

I was kinda happy to hear that the new pvp map is a 1v1 team thing, but not happy its like a MOBA. The 1v1v1 game mode is really annoying, it feels like its a game of chance and distraction.

I might be biased as a dota fan but I am really looking forward to trying out the new pvp mode. Should prove a very good distraction from unending coil prog and keep me sane :D

I don't quite understand the glamour changes yet. Is it a book like WoW where you can select x number of armor pieces to add to your "commode" that you can use for glamour at any time? Or perhaps you have to make outfits and use those? Personally I'd prefer to just be able to mix and match freely with all the glamour items I like stored in the commode.

Just started playing and I have to say the design of the main quest line is horrendous. Go to place 1 to get quest, go to place 2 to complete it. Go back to place 1. Go to place 2 again. Then back to 1, then to 3, then to 1, then to 2, then to 1. Then to 3, then to 3.1, then to 3. Then do quests for a bartender to get him to tell you stuff when you represent an entire faction...

Oh and place 1 has no teleport location, Horizon is 2 min away. I might be able to get back to the main quest line after a few days. Will level other classes in the meantime since that grind beats out the main quest line by a lot.

I heard it does get good later on in the expansions, will see if I last there.

I did buy the game but am still using the trial edition for now. Only hit level 35 with one job, need to do it with all before activating. :p Maybe I can bother doing msq with one of them for levelling when they hit 23.

You're right about it being awful, you don't have to teleport into Horizon and ride to Vesper Bay though. Teleport into Limsa Lominsa, take the aethernet to the Arcanist's Guild and from there take the ferry to Vesper Bay. it will save you a lot of time and frustration.

As a slight spoiler, you move out of the Waking Sands around the low-mid 40s, then it gets a lot easier to get around.

I'ma be honest with you here Yurie, you haven't even gotten to the bad parts yet. Titan, Coerthas, and the gap between ARR and Heavensward still await you. I will say at least that there is some immense payoff at the end of it all. And it does get better, but whew, buckle in.

So a minor update on how it is to play. Main quest line still sucks. 5.5 days of play time and I am at level 23 of the main quest while having 3 level 35 classes and 2 level 40 non fighting classes. Overall enjoying the game, might just pay to skip main quest or see it as the heaviest grind thus far in the game and just do it. Kind of need to do it to get more dungeons and content unlocked.

The main quest just takes a lot of time until it gets interesting unfortunately you are about to enter the worst slog of it I think. Usually what I recommend is picking a "main" class and just power through the MSQ, since they buffed the XP for it by a lot so you most likely won't get levelgated especially considering your headstart already.
The end of the Patch 2.X series and then the following Heavensward and Stormblood storylines are really good though, so I would recommend not skipping the story entirely.

I played a lot of this game on release, recently tried to get back into it. The main story quest caused me to cancel my sub. It took me weeks of boring running from point a to point b (or just teleporting..) to even get through all of vanilla and not even to level cap of skyward.

That's a shame, the early levels are rough, but the patches leading up to Heavensward
are so freaking good. They're easily my favorite stories in the entire franchise. It sucks to see you didnt enjoy Heavensward, I thought the whole journey and experience just screamed classic Final Fantasy to me, so I adored it.

Noooooo my poor summoner. Someone on reddit calculated that the single target nerfs were only 100 dps loss, but I have no idea how accurate that will be. Aoe will take a bigger hit. Maybe no more 30k dps dungeon pulls. THE HORROR.
