Also leveling seems to slow down quite a bit after around level 20, but I'm not really doing many side quests anymore since the main story quests sends me around in the whole world and I'm a bit confused which quests to take. You level WHM and CNJ at the same time. Leveling should get quicker around 20, if you're looking to level fast find the appropriate area for your level and join a fate party. Easiest xp ever.
Does that mean when I level PLD, I will start at level 20 or 30 or something?

It's pretty terrible. But, I'm really encouraged by the fact that it's terrible because too many people are trying to play and the infrastructure isn't in place for that. I would rather play a wildly popular MMO that is struggling to deal with population overload than play a game like 1.0 where the servers were empty but stable. It will get ironed out sooner rather than later, so I'm not minding so much.

your paladin will always be the same level as your gladiator.

I'm actually kind of disappointed to hear that. But it explains why I haven't seen any level 1 PLDs out questing.... interesting.

I've done the storyline ifrit fight 3 times now, and each time has ended with the tank + healer dead and me killing him by kiting him around on archer. kinda funny. unfortunately there seems to be some bug for dead people where they can't exit the battlefield, and if you log out you lose credit for completing the event. sucks.

It's not really a bug. You don't get credit until you click the exit. If nobody rezzes you... yeah, gg.

oh, now i feel bad i did that to some guy yesterday. we beat th ilfrit, i wanted to rez, but he was in a cutscene for like 5 mins and i got bored and left....
And about the class leveling...you allready have like 8 classes to level from lvl 1, if you would need to level jobs as well, you would simply run out of content. Its also better this way because some jobs are really specialized and can not take skills from other dps classes, so you would be kind of screwed. Also, this way your base class is getting leveld by doing dungeons as heal/tank job. Its much better this way.

The concurrent population is only 300k, it's really not as many people as you think.

These error messages are getting really old really fast, 2002, 1017 -_- It'd be forgivable if this wasn't the second attempt at this game
edit - yay finally in only took about 25 minutes this time

Yeah I haven't been able to log in for 3~ days

Same here. It is very disheartening not being able to play. The only reason I am staying positive is because I have loved the game so far. I can deal with waiting a few days knowing that I will have a ton of fun when I am able to log in

Yeah cause 300 thousand people isn't a lot or anything.

Some servers are worse than others.
Mine takes me ~2 hours on average to get in.
|
me and some friends have had upwards of ~8 hours trying to get in multiple times. we're just waiting for server transfers T_T
|
when i get the NA/EU server list, i can usually log in in around 15 minutes.
just use the numpad 0 for rapid logins.

You should buy some lottery tickets.

I really wish they'd have a larger queue
I'd rather sit in a queue for 30-60 minutes and get in for sure, than keep spamming num0 for 2 hours If the server list is even available
I don't even understand it from the technical point of view, since spamming the login server with requests if probably more taxing than just keeping people in queue
Also I've read so many times that people just keep being AFK just because of that situation and this way they may be able to play when they get home, but that's not really a solution but part of the actual problem

Yeah the only time I log off is when my internet drops of the FF servers crash. My friend has been logged in for days because once he leaves, he can't get back on. It's a shame. I don't get why they didn't just introduce a 500 or 1000 person queue and just automatically count it down to let you know when you were going to get in. Like WoW used to have when it was a good game and people actually wanted to play it.
