Overall I'm quite pleased with the game though, a few minor things to nag about, but overall a solid entry for the XCOM series.

I bugged out so hard it turned my internet off, and even disabled the LAN port on my motherboard (reinserting the cable fixed it). Now when i load back. It says Im already researching. While my next lead is to research. And it wont let me make any changes at all. Thats like the 4th time Ive had to restart my entire playthrough because of bugs. I had it bug out where i was building an alien holding cell and it crashed, when it reloaded it said i needed to but it was already displayed as building, when i clicked on build facility it wouldnt show it and i couldnt go back, completely screwed ^_^ Its a shame about how buggy the game was released, it really is brilliant otherwise, your having an EXTREMELY bad time :D Mine hasnt been so bad.

I went to fight him only with my assault that had arc thrower and managed to get him to 1 life and then when I used Arc I failed to stun him. Then I reloaded a save and moved my char to another spot and failed again. Reloaded a few times and always failed with 90% success chance lol. So I am wondering if it is even possible. BTW fighting MC characters with only one of yours is the way to do it :D At best they can panic you. Since he is also a Col their attacks often fail as well.

Combat rolls are made at the start of the turn if not even before that. Reloading will not change the outcome. Try doing things differently and going for the stun a turn later.

If I just write xcom, it will suggest to me Xcom: Enemy Unknown, but when I then search it says no results... Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it? I tried google but that was not helpful.

I could not do it differently because my Assault has that reaction ability which he used to reduce the commander to 1 life with pistol. Waiting another round would kill the commander because I need to keep my assault within one move range to be able to use Arc.

I captured him the first time I was in that mission. First hit stun and he was coming home with us.

6 hours in and the game is decent fun, pretty easy on normal iron man so far only managed to lose one squaddie. Got a feeling I might be progressing through the story too fast though, I can assault alien base now but I don't have any new weapons/armour yet. Although I'm currently researching Plasma Rifle so I might try to post-pone my Assault till that since I don't know whats waiting me there. Also either I'm pretty unlucky or 70% chance to hit on stun gun equals miss. And after saying all that the next mission I discover both Mutons and Cyberdisk for the first time, Mutons weren't a big issue but cyberdisk took out my Major rank Heavy, R.I.P.

Also either I'm pretty unlucky or 70% chance to hit on stun gun equals miss. Don't go there without plasma snipers and titan armor for at least your most front like units. Also when you finish it, it reduced globally panic by 2 so you might want to save that mission for an end of a month that has lots of countries in the red. I done it like that and saved 3 countries that would have left the council otherwise. BTW, did anyone playing on classic or impossible manage to finish the game without losing any country from the council? And can you share how you done it? On classic so far I managed to finish all missions, destroyed all UFOs, build satellites non stop and put them on countries that are about to leave the council because satellite reduces panic by 2 and always choose abduction missions that are in countries with more panic and still Mexico left and only base assault saved me from losing 3 more countries ![]()

... BUT I BLAME THE DAMN RNG !!!Started my "main" ironman classic playtrough ( since impossible with saves is just boring but not really... hard ), first terror missions happened in the 2nd or 3rd week of the 2nd month o.o, had to give up on it and lost Australia + some other country since they had high panic but the mission there was hard + gave me jack. Now I am 1 missions past the alien based, which I have beaten lossing 1 level 3 heavy ( not that big a deal imo ), a total of 5 countries left the XCOM, fuck them, but i have stat + fighters in every other country and they all have 1 panic so im kinda fine. HOWEVER, the mission after the alien base was a UFO landing... and oh boy those UFO ramps. You can sit in cover atop a ramp with 2 fucking guys and don't have full vission of the ramp, seriously !!!? Fucking seriously. Also the game has apparently decided that it wants to throw mutons + beserkers at me at every fucking corner so i have to be careful not to engage 2 groups and loss man. I won the mission due to a hero sniper and a recruit that single handed killed 1 and a half mind control bastards each and lost 1 level 3 assault + 1 recruit. That map is broken as shit :/. Im researching SHIV atm to try and use it as cannon folder for the muttons/against the mind control guys. Is it any good ( with the laser upgrade ) ? Does anyone use 1 or 2 in the squad ? It costs me jack in terms of money and alloys so i can't imagine it being as good as a level 3 + soldier.

It makes such a massive difference to be able to scout ahead safely with this thing. Also, just being able to run up to point blank range with it to guarantee a hit is pretty fun too. Haven't actually made much use of the hover capabilities of it yet tbh. I was very disappointed to see that you can't get an elevation bonus when flying.

At the start of the mission, where you can change the gear of your units, there is "edit unit" and "clear unit" buttons. Clear unit frees that spot of the squad and you can choose another soldier. They really should label it different.
