Now I have some questions for more experience players. How does sound works exactly, because I feel like it is limited as far as front/back - left/right goes, it has no limitations vertically. What I mean is when you walk on the ledge of the tallest building, if zed is far below but right next to the wall it aggroes. What can be changed by admin on the server, I saw hardcore ones without 3D cam and no crosshair, but do they change loot/loot respawn time also. I had some terrible luck on hardcore servers with only empty cans where I am used to great items. What about spawns, I'm not they guy who constantly respawns but I am quite frustrated with the fact that I find only big cities like Elektro and Chernogorsk useful. All those small cities that basically don't have hospitals have never given me any weapons. Am I a sucker not respawning and running like a moron for a long period of time to big cities for guns ? Now for some fun time, my noobish deaths, I am not talking about zeds or players this is normal in DayZ. I am talking about me being stupid and learning the game: - my first decent run, very first hand gun, crossbow, found hospital explored it, looted stuff, was fooling around large industrial area, finding high ground to see what's where. As I go down I fall , break bones and hurt myself. As I didn't know at that time what those symbols mean, quick alt+tab, google, ok this is this, hey I was in the hospital, got morphine, cool I'm fine. Tabbing in, zeds chewing on me, god damn didn't know I've attracted the attention by falling or maybe as I was coming down. I have a gun now ! Shot them, bandage, morphine, painkillers BUT no food and 4000ish blood. Colors began to fade I was shivering and spend 1h looking for food, had blood packs but noone to transfuse me. Died ofc. - exploring industrial area, on a small catwalk right as it turns, jerry can, right in the middle I can't pass and I have no room in the inventory to pick it up. I decide to vault over it with "v", I did vault, but wrong camera placement put me behind the walkway and falling down. Dead ofc - not as much death but wasting time. I got barbed wire kit, decided to try it out, how it works etc. Proceeded to walling myself in, couldn't vault over it - changing server to another one without my brilliant barbed wire wall... - and my personal best. I got some nice equipment, food water, gadgets etc. Decided to venture further into the woods, so I was tweaking my video settings to see better. On one of the menu visits, I hit respawn by mistake... | ||

So it all started with a spawn near Three Valleys. I decide to make my way west to hit up the farm there. After not finding much loot in the farm I want to head to the barn farther west. After walking along the road for a little while I realize that I took the wrong road and am heading south to Tulga rather than the barn I had intended to go to. I decide to continue onward until I reach the u-turn in the road. From there I head north and attempt to loot the deer stand there only to find nothing of value. I continue to head north and finally reach the barn. After realizing that there's nothing there worth taking I turn around at the top of the barn and bam! There's a guy standing there with a makarov aiming right at me. He doesn't fire and I end up scurrying away to the north. From this point I decide to loot the industrial/residential areas along the road to Dolina. I get to the farm and decide to head back south towards Msta since I didn't have much hope of finding a weapon in Dolina. I loot the two deer stands northwest of Msta with no success. So I head to the barn on the eastern outskirts of Msta. Jackpot! I find a CZ550 and a Lee Enfield in the barn. I decide to take the CZ550 and continue heading south to put my new rifle to good use by killing people in the more populated coastal areas. I loot the deer stand south of Msta on my way there and then head to Rog. In the house in Rog I find plenty of food and drink as well as a G17. Then suddenly the server goes down. Next, I find a new server. Only this time the house in Rog has very little inside and I end up falling down the stairs and breaking my leg. Luckily I have a morphine on me that I acquired from my earlier escapades. After being disappointed with what I've found so far on the new server I walk outside and there it is! A shiny new tractor there for the taking. I hop in the bad boy and cruise what I believed to be westward towards the road. It turns out it wasn't west at all and I end up driving through the woods for a little bit before I end up on the road to the north. From here I follow the road east which eventually connects with a southern road that I take to Kamyshovo. From Kamyshovo I decide to continue my way west toward Electro. After driving for a while I realize that I've once again made a wrong turn and I end up in Slonichniy. I loot the quarry without much luck and end up with around 1,000 blood left. From this point I'm slipping in and out of consciousness and decide to book it back towards Electro in hopes of finding some food and drink. After driving for a while I arrive at the supermarket in Electro expecting to find food and drink. However, there isn't much to be found. I then run to the house across the street where I fall unconscious once again and a zombie ends my life. | ||

 )Anyway.. they went from a group of players scared witless, trying to survive using everything they could find.. to what they do now.. just kill everyone they see regardless of friendly or not. What i'd like to know is, is this how the game is played on a wider scale? It sounded SO much more fun when they had just started.. i'm not even sure I want to get in on it myself now. | ||

When you finally got your ghillie, sniper, nvg etc etc, you can't be arsed to die from some random kid who doesn't reply via voice or text to "Friendly." and shoots you in the head. At the start it doesnt matter, but the longer you play the more dieing sucks. Still, LOOOOOOOOVE this game | ||

Luckily they were in the region south of the Airstrip where I was holed up in the south barracks. They came in about 30 minutes and patched me up, gave me food mended my bones and sent me on my way. I was so relieved that I wouldn't lose yet another Char to alpha glitches. I snuck to the fence line south and thought all was good and started to crouch-run across to a treeline and to much safer pastures. I heard shots and at first I figured it was the doctors shooting but when they asked me who was shooting was when I heard the bullets whistle by me. I heard at least 8 whistles and many many more shots being fired. I didn't look but I think their may have been two shooters. I stood and started running in a zig zag straight up panicking trying to get behind trees to at least hide my movements. It seemed like to took ages to cover the span of open ground. I got behind the trees and changed direction to hopefully throw off the person possibly chasing me and continued running away. I ran for at least 5 minutes away and thankfully I had lost whoever was chasing me. My heart was pounding like crazy and I was genuinely scared to die. I was so relieved for the second time today and I figured I wouldn't press me luck and I logged for the night. | ||

My friend driving the ATV immediately turned around and manned the fuck up on them, running over one before escaping into the woods. They managed to shoot out one of the motorcycles tires however and take down the driver. I'll get revenge on those bastards next time. | ||
