such a bad day, recap:
had 20 cooked steaks, silenced mp5, silenced m9, went to novo sobor, got hit by a zombie which incapped me and broke my leg with ONE HIT, bleed out to 600 blood. friend wants to save me, no morphium in our tent, goes to starry sobor for military tent, finds one morphium, wants to save me. i switch the server and i start bleeding again and die. friend heads back to tent, tent is gone and robbed, friend sees a guy near the tent, kills him and gets shot by something in the back.
-> tent gone, both dead. fresh beginning.

Just completely jacked this guys ATV that had an M4A1 cco with 26 SD stanag rounds + an AS50 with 11 mags.
I was pretty bummed I made the trip to Berezino to find nothing too.

is it worth to go to starry at all? i feel like if you are on your own without some sniper covering your ass on the hill you may aswell go all out and run in.
i rarely find good weapons there, the best one i got was the mp5 silenced. where do you guys get AS50, M4A1 CCO etc?
is it worth to run east the whole day to head to berezino? i never visited that place, but it seems there is not a lot of interesting stuff around.
i just want some good weapons but all i find is AKs, FALs etc.

In my experience, weapon quality wise:
heli crash sites > Stary Sobor > NWAF > Berezino > Elektro fire stations > other stuff like Balota AF, NEAF, deer stands
The reason why I think Stary is so good is because it's small, you can run through the tents quickly and there are a bunch of deer stands and crash site spawn locations in the surrounding area.
Our last heli crash site had a M249, M107 and the FAL with nv scope, location was between Stary and Novy Sobor.

Does this game require a strong computer to run? I keep randomly dcing with very low fps even on the lowest settings.

Go up there and camp it yourself for a while. A really good spot is the hill with a car on it. Just scan around and sit there for maybe 10 minutes, then head in and loot FAST. Then gtfo as fast as you can.

This game is incredible. Did you guys know that if you travel with someone, if they aren't on your screen they show up on the edge as a green dot (and, for that matter, that all zombies out of your field of view show up as white dots on the side of the screen that increase in size as they get closer)?
Anyway, I spawned in Cherno today, entered from the west near the construction site. I climbed on the roof of an office building and went to the opposite edge, then promptly shit my pants when I saw a sniper on top of the factory close by facing the other direction. I sprinted back to the ladder, he shot at me once but I was zigzagging, plus he had shitty aim. I spent the rest of my time in Cherno dodging between buildings to avoid the sniper fire, and on the way finding a Makarov and my medical supplies for that day, as I made my way to the apartments and my friend. For the record, watching the tops of buildings as you run through the city scavenging shit is completely awesome.
We came under more fire in northwest Cherno, near the fire station, and retreated into one of the factories (the one which kind of looks like a printing press or grain processing facility). We sat there until we saw the guys shooting at us (there were 3 on top of one of the sets of 3 big silos/tanks just south of the apartments). Though we had voice chat muted, we later found out they were obnoxiously shit-talking everyone in the server. We made our way towards them gradually, incredibly stealthily, and then while we were sitting at the foot of their building two of them got taken out by another sniper. We took advantage of the turmoil by running out from our cover and shooting the last one in the face with a double-barreled shotgun my friend had. We went up where they were and looted their bodies as fast as we could, as we knew at any moment we could be shot by another bandit on a different roof. I snagged an AKM and an M1911 as well as enough food and water. We made our way to the apartments, which I looted for an ALICE pack, Winchester and food/ammo mostly without incident. We decided to make our way to the Balota airstrip; on the way there some random guy started shooting at us with a Makarov in the forest; he was outgunned and we killed him pretty quickly though.
There wasn't any good loot in the camp or hangars, so we tried to make our way north to Stary Sobor. We made a quick stop in the long warehouse north of Vysota looking for ammo, but we didn't find anything. We thought we had scoped it out pretty well in advance with binoculars, but we suddenly we heard an explosion really close to us, and then bullets started flying in at us as we left the warehouse, so in a moment of weakness we logged out and server hopped.
We got up to Vyshnoye without incident, but scouted in the field and jizzed ourselves at the sight of a helicopter crash in the clearing just northwest of Vyshnoye. Over the next 15 minutes we advanced literally as cautiously as possible, scanning the town with binoculars for anyone with a sniper and eventually taking out the perimeter zombies around the crash. There was one dead player body in the field southwest of the town, but we were clearly being more careful. We were about to make a break for the helicopter to loot shit when we met our end. We were emptying out our backpacks next to a fence just south of the crash so we could loot freely and then run back. I accidentally dropped my gun and at that moment we heard sniper fire. I tried to grab my gun off the ground and make a run for it, but my friend got sniped in the face and me soon after. We were both pretty crushed at that point, so we called it a day. DayZ can be a cruel, cruel game.

Found a camo and a ghillie in the same building yesterday tho. Gave the camo to my mate, who got teleported into the ocean. We were stocked up on food, water, morphine and bloodpacs too...
