When I first started playing DayZ I was pretty friendly. Not shooting on sight and trying to team up with people. After a few hours of losing all my equipment that friendly attitude of mine faded. I quickly learned that everytime you login to dayZ you should always shoot everything that moves on sight. Keep your head down, Don't make to much noise to alert zombies/players of your presence. Oh and one more thing...Getting the drop on somebody is worth so much more than a fancy gun.

Surprisingly I have yet to be betrayed. Everyone just sort of runs away at some point though.

I saved a guys ass and he offered me a ride in his boat the other day, just to get out of cherno.
Turns out he couldn't work out how to get in the boat with me as well as his mate, so he shot me while I was sat there in the back. This was a guy who was really trusting and I helped out, and rather than ask me to get out he just shot me. I wasn't even driving it. From now on, anyone who has a gun and looks my way is getting shot, since its pointless trying to team up and then getting shot in the back, since people just don't care that they wasted the other persons last 2 hours. I don't mind it when someone outplays me, but when you try to help people out and they just fuck you up I get pretty pissed off.

That said, I went round cherno after finding an alice pack full of steak and fed about 5 people lol, felt like jesus

Getting sick of this game. 3 days in a row I played 5-10hrs each day and by the end of the day, my character bugs and dies or loses all of its equipment. last night i spent 10 hours to gather enough supplies to eventually obtain a DMR, 1911, every tool in the game, camo suit, m16a2, SVD CAMO, M24, alice pack, and all ammo/misc supplies. FINALLY! a nice set of equipment (finally? no, i had good sets at the end of every day for the last 3 days). I log back in later, appear in barren wasteland. great. I read a few threads on how to get out of the god forsaken place and so I run east southeast for THREE hours straight. this morning i finally see some trees! yes, im out! I'm starving and my life is going down so I log out and check my map to see where i am to make sure i can have someone meet me with food and water as soon as i see anything recognizable. low and behold, next time i log in i fall out of the sky to my death for the second time in 3 days. there goes hours down the toilet, i didn't even get to shoot any of my weapons. this has happened about 3 days in a row now.

"another day in dayz" is getting old when stories are more about teleporting to the middle of a desert, falling out of the sky, and every other bug out there. /rant

Managed to survive a whopping 8 hours with a character. Looted about 50 houses in Elektro, many of which SHOULD have weapon spawns according to the map. No weapons found. Are there actually any weapons in this game? I have yet to find a single survivor that carries a gun. I've heard two shots fired. I looked for the guy, hoping he would die to zombies so I could take his gun, but no luck. Guess I'll just die of starvation (can't find much food either) because apparentely you need to eat like every 2 hours in this game.

Well at least I'm doing *something*.

I was looting the AC tower at Balota when I got jumped by some guy. I killed him but I only have 300 blood left ):
if someone wants to help out a fellow TLer then let me know!!

All I need is firewood or a hatchet so I can cook my raw meat.

I realize game is in alpha, bugs are already well documented. Just relaying my experience and frustration. Game is is being patched to hopefully fix debug forest and Rocket is hard at work. I have my concerns from Arma's limitations as a whole, but so far so good.

ok so i love the game and so on but my FPS is horrible. my rig should handle it just well but whenever i walk into a city the game stutters and the fps drops. i did no modifications so far, is there anything i could do?
