That is true yeah - you need to collect the parts and fix it first though. They're quite tough to fly apparently too.

They're actually quite easy to fly.. if you invert your mouse. You can go to the armory and practice flying them by yourself or with friends.. It's actually quite fun :D

Nice tip - will give that a go when I'm dont watching Destiny mess around in Elektro, it's quite funny.
Edit: He just murdered a man for his push bike.

Love the new patch so far. Just played a good few hours with a friend and it's a lot harder now.

There is no better feeling for me in Dayz (besides being on the hilarious bicycle perhaps) than when you are armed with a lowly makarov, and some douchebag with a high level weapon sneaks up on you, and for some holy reason of justice you are able to kill them :D. Such an epic experience haha. Their tears of rage are the finest and most delicate wine available in internet gaming.
They may have spent several days amassing all the equipment and journeying down to elektro to prey on newbs with their awesome weapon and night vision and you just pop their head with a makarov. Such an hilarious 'just desert'!!!

Okey, before 1.7.1 I already felt game is a lot of hard, I have the game for like one week and I never left coast cities (even if they are big and pretty crowded) and usually I lived for max of 4 hours... now after this patch, I have no idea how to play and not die to zombies, at least before I was dying to players.
Any tips? I am fairly new to the game and this new update is kinda uber hard at first glance.

haha that happened to me too. i was scavenging some house in electro and when i came out some guy was camping on the floor with his ak and ghillie suit. he shot me and i went down. then he hesitated, maybe he thought i was dead. anyways, i took my chance and gave him a few rounds to the head from my makarov. i was happy to take his loot off him and even happier when i looked up right and saw that he actually was a bandit.

Basically journey north and seek your fortune. Get used to using shift to keep your noise down. Travelling at night is much easier than day. If you get ambushed by zombies that just were virtually invisible or hidden, remember you can always 'abort' and then reconnect. I don't do it very often but when you get caught and you have spent 2+ hours travelling, it's just not worth fighting 10 zombies sometimes. Also if someone uses a really sweaty tactic against you (ie stalking you and then shooting when you are halfway up a ladder or sniping you from a v long distance while you are eating beans) remember you can disconnect too. You shouldn't really use this but in such a situation, a guy with no honour who is just picking you off like a defenceless baby seal doesn't deserve for you to play fair.
Also, in general, don't be afraid to spend quite a while crawling through areas, you can crawl within 5 feet of a zombie (at night) so it's really useful for getting through the crucial 'line' outside an area you need to loot.

... disconnect...
You do realize your body now stays for 5 seconds after disconnect (in this new patch), right?
Also, i don't recommend traveling at night unless you have NVG, your brightness/gamma/HDR maxed out, or are the only one on the server... as there are OTHERS doing the same thing, and also bandits (like me) who look for travelers on night servers who THINK it's safe to travel at night... it's most definitely not.

Oh shit! I haven't dl'd the new patch yet! Damn.
I was also talking about travelling at night in order to avoid zombies. WHen I go north I almost never run into people until I get somewhere of note ie the airfield.

I doubt the ones in the city really spent that much time gathering those weapons to kill other players. Odds are they ran immediately to a city upon spawning, hit up the rarer spawn locations and either killed some guy that just nabbed a good weapon or found one themselves.

Im tempted to try this game, looks really amazing from the videos i've seen!!!
Just 1 question, seeing i dont have a lot of time anymore due to work, is it possible to play this game casually (like say 1-2hours a day)? Or is there no point to it? Like: Is it easy to log of and continue the next day? Or have to start from scratch all the time?
|
Waiting for the steam summer sale to get a nice deal on ARMA before I try this bad boy out. Looks super fun though.

Considering how regularly you're probably going to die, there's no problem with only playing an hour or 2 a day.
There's no real goals other than those you set yourself, it doesn't require a large time investment at all.

Cool yeh i dont mind dying, but it would be kinda sad if you worked for something and logged out and would dissapear. If i die by PvP or zombies its fine

i dont know about you guys but I think if your going to play to play on patch 1.7.0 untill they fix spawn rate and los for zombies in 1.7.1.
right now rays which is used by los is disabled on buildings so they can see through walls for now and zombie spawns are almost instant.
