I also want to leave this link here (probably already posted but can't go through 56 pages :D): This is by far best video tutorial for installing ArmA and Day Z. It covers ArmA 2, expansion (steam/retail), Day Z, BETA PATCH installation and Spiritedmachine Launcher (which is best Launcher I used). Yesterday I did clean installation of the game following step by step this tutorial and it works like a charm, without single error or issue. Also, if you don't have BETA patch (new one got released last week or so and there are 20-30 servers with newest patch already) just install it, my game works 100 times better after patching with less bugs and headache while joining servers... everything is smoother and faster ten times. Also: this map is best damn map on teh intrawebz http://dayzmap.info with loot locations and loot search - but be warned, you are ruining a lot of experience for yourself if you decide to use loot map. One of best moments in Day Z for me are moments when you, accidentally, while fighting through packs of zombies get to the loot location of nice gun.  BEST DAMN GAME EVER! | ||

Story (its pretty good) + Show Spoiler + Started out in the woods, called out on global channel that i was a noob, and asked if anyone wanted to help me out.. I said I was near some bill board and soon enough, maybe 2 minutes later, someone comes out of the woods to join up with me. We run around for a bit together, he teaches me basics, we do some looting in a town before heading up some hills into the woods.. where it starts to get crazy. So we start running through the woods, shooting zombies we see, when we realize we are both going through a lot of ammo.. running low on ammo.. out of ammo.. with 3-4 zombie chasing us! We start desynching hard as we are running through the woods trying to loose the zombies, and suddenly the zombies go falling down the hill past us, apparently killed by the server (who called in the air support??) So we head back along this railroad track and come to a town. Both of us are still out of ammo, but we decide to sneak around as best we can, and try to find some bullets in the town. I'm not sure how it happened, but all the sudden we are getting chased by what feels like every. zombie. in the fucking. town. We both go charging out of the town, zombies tailing right behind us, when.. out of nowhere.. like its some sort of action movie.. some other survivor busts out of nowhere and starts shooting the zombies down! Well he also runs out of ammo, so here we are, three survivors, running for our lives. And thats when we run into the best thing you can see when you have no ammo and a train of zombies chasing you -- a dead survivor!! We all start running around the survivor when I see my chance. All the zombies are distracted, so I duck in and loot the body, grabbing a few mags for my markpag. I load it up and finish off the zombies, and the three of us go on to own face and loot the shit out of the town. I logged off not too long after that (there were some more adventures before i logged, but that's all I'm gonna share for now) DayZ life | ||

Adds quite some fun, and players are usually more friendly. Not as serious as the real thing, but made me enjoy the game again, so try it ! | ||

Me and 2 friends started out yesterday and after a few hours we finally managed to get some gear and escape the killzone. There was one funny situation where the 3 of us ran around without any supplies, ~2k-5k blood and 2 bullets left in my gun. We were really trying to be good guys then we saw someone run into the shed we were heading for. We went in and when he turned and saw the 3 of us in the door he instantly stepped back and typed friendly. I didnt like it but i had to put a bullet in his head. I bet if he knew how hurt we were he couldve actually taken us out. One of my mates even passed out a few seconds after i shot him. Also funny to see how your mates react. Before we got to the shed we were followed by zombies with only me having ammo left. Somehow one of them breaks my legs and i faint. To my dismay i hear my mates on teamspeak and they dont even hesitate "ok hes dead. lets get out of here." I nearly wasted my last ammo on them after i somehow managed to get up, take morphine and run away. All while 3 zombies were snacking on my brains. The adventure finally ended when we were checking out some walkway between silos or something and i want to get a better look through my binoculars and accidentaly press v instead of b. Still its a frickin awesome game. Loads of fun. | ||

Just outside of a small town (no town names, sorry), see a lone zombie. Decide to have fun and pick it off from seomwhat far away (I had picked off a few others earlier and nothing bad happened). Boy did I regret it. Heard a scream of a zombie right after, think okay no problem, run away from the town and kill it away from civilization. Check behind me as I run - 1 turns to 4 - 4 to 8 - 8 to like 13. Okay still no problem, plenty of bullets (5 clips of lee and like 4 of mav), so I run a little further before turning and shooting every once in a while. Sadly the first zombie I turn to shoot hits me and causes me to bleed, and at the time I only had like 6k blood so it turns into a race against the clock. Take out about half of them before my vision starts to give on me and I start panic shooting rather than aiming my shoots properly (to be fair it was so hard to shoot I probably wouldn't have been able to aim properly anyways. Kill the remainder of them with about 2.7k blood left and like a clip of lee enfield left. Patch myself up and quickly eat all my beans. Does nothing though, as the beans only bring me up to like 3.6k blood which changes nothing - I still can't see properly. To make matters worse I hear mroe zombies coming, because as it turns out I aggro'd a few of those frog ones as well. Luckily I kill the three of them while taking no damage, but not being able to see makes it hard to aim, so I have 1 round left. Needless to say I decided to stop using the lee anyways. Decide to run in the opposite direction in hopes of finding a town and some food (though at this point I figured I was a dead man walking). About 10 minutes later I find an outpost, and briefly pass out. Shortly after entering the outpost I hear gunfire, and I panic completely because I'm in no condition to fight. So I find the nearest wall, hug it for a bit, before spinting out into the open towards the next city I see. I enter the city (still as disoriented as ever), and say to hell with it and just sprint through the streets looking for somewhere to loot. I find a 3 story building filled with loot and quickly go through it - and to my dissappointment find no food. I find a glitch person - who I wasted 2 clips on because I didn't notice he was glitched - who also has no food. Just as I'm thinking about leaving, I hear distant gunfire, followed by the scream of someone being attacked. I quickly hide in one of the side rooms, but it's no use. Moments laters I hear the person walking through the halls and see them pass by. Unforunately I knew that past my room was a dead end, and prepared for them (as best I could), by hiding behind the two boxes that were nearby. Sure enough, the guy turns around and runs into my room, and immediately looks at the doorway - expecting whatever it was that was chasing him to enter. I quickly kill him, which in my dazed stated takes two mav clips to do successfully, and loot his body. I find some beans, eat them, and can finally see straight again.Nothing entered the room after him, and I found no one in the surrounding area. Whatever it was that was chasing him, was no longer there. I'm officially a bandit now. Doesn't feel good, but I did what I had to do I think. | ||

Oh and we can put our tents in a forest now or wherever we want. [FIXED] Tent placement is completely screwed (now can place anywhere except in building) Protip: Tip: Need to quietly break into a hospital? Throw trash at the windows | ||

Wow, this will definitely change the gameplay substantially. Usually people just run around with makarovs death matching, seems like Rocket didn't want that to continue on. Now going to be a lot more stealthy, covert ops type thing, and I think it's appropriate for the zombie mod.. rock on bros. | ||

Biked in a heli crash, got a ghille suit, and a CCO... went to Stary, found some OTHER guy in a ghille, gunned him down, had about 15 stanag rounds after that... oh man.. good day,... also... DESTINY IS STREAMING DAYZ:: http://www.own3d.tv/Destiny | ||

And yeah the window thing is weird, shoot with large caliber at the window? Won't break, throw a tin can instead. | ||

Flashlight wont work despite having it out and hitting L and all chat is gone so I can't ask if anybody else is having this issue... not to mention I just died and I don't have a weapon anymore. Bah. My FPS seems to have dropped insanely on this patch too, although this might just be a temporary thing. | ||
