It's like the server started on a clean slate. All our weapons, ammo, food, medical supplies from the old server. Is all gone. Time to start over again =(

On another note, what guns do you guys usually carry? For example: sure, the M4A1 or M14 are great for pvp or wtv, but isn't something like a Winchester more convenient for "normal use?" It kills in one shot, has plenty of ammo lying around, etc. Unless, of course, pvp is what's normal for you guys. Idk, I still haven't gotten to a level where I felt adequately equipped for combating other players.

In about the 5th hanger I somehow, while crouched and walking, aggro'd a zombie through the wall who brought all hell down on me. About 15 zeds later I was back down to like 3k health, down a clip of AKM ammo, out of G17 ammo (didn't really have time for headshots =/ ) and sure that everyone on the map new where I was. Still, I dutifully crawled on, taking naps at the most random of times, and finding a whole lot of not much else other than a few more G17 clips. Until, that is, I got to the north barracks and found an AK74 with about 5 clips. My friend was still in Makarov Mode, so I had to drop the m16 (no ammo for it anywhere) so I could grab him a gun with ammo. I died a little inside. A long crawl later and I was bounding across fields towards the forrest northwest of Stary where our meeting point was, hearing phatom gunshots the whole way and generally being paranoid (and sleepy, still at low blood). Skipping ahead, we meet up without incident, cook and eat some steaks he brought me, and head down to Stary for the first time. We approach from the north, slightly further west of the tents then I intended (again, first time, I'm going by the ingame map and what I've seen on streams) and crawl over the to the forested ridge right by the tents. We crawl our way down, eyes peeled for zeds or players. TJ is to my right and I think I see a break in the fence and crawl for that. When I arrive it looks like I might be able to vault it, meanwhile TJ says he's going to head to the right side of the fence since we know it ends there. So I take one final look around and see a survivor heading to my right... from my left. I freak and start fast talking to TJ, trying to see if he was standing. As he says no the survivor, not even 10m behind me, opens fire and kills TJ. I spin around and pump about 6 AKM shots into him. I run up too his body, frantically looking around for more of his allies, and then I quickly loot the bulk of his stuff and run for the top of the ridge. I hide, I don't remember exactly where but I had a view of the way he came from and was tucked under a tree or bush, and wait. A few minutes pass and I don't see anything, so I crawl back to the body for a more thorogh loot. After it's all said and done I have an MP5 with 5 clips (2 are SD), an M9SD with I think 2 or 3 clips, a coyote backpack (upgrade from my czech), still have my AKM and clips along with bino's, full food, water, meds, and 3 blood bags. Had I been more observant I would have noticed the different backpack and gun, but with no nametags I just kinda freaked out and let my friend die... but we got sweet weaponry and upgrades out of the deal, and I got my first player kill! Still learning, but damn I love this game.

Idk, I still haven't gotten to a level where I felt adequately equipped for combating other players. I usually carry some kind of assault rifle for PvP, ideally something like a M14 AIM, M4 SD, or maybe a M4A3 CCO. I would consider those a higher tier weapon, but the more "mid-tier" weapons like the M16A2 or any basic assault rifle is good for PvP. I usually just use my sidearm for killing zombies, but a M4 SD or a MP5 SD works really well for that too. The thing about PvP in this game is that you never know when it is going to happen, so I feel like always being ready for it helps quite a bit when it does come around.

I think having the interface resolution set lower than the 3D resolution forces some kind of anti-aliasing that can (oddly enough) leave my screen a little bit blurry. That might just be my computer struggling to cope with the game (which it does anyway), but you could try fiddling about with that also.

we got him, then ANOTHER showed up, killed 2 of us, then we gunned that guy down... then a few seconds later? a THIRD shows up (these were all different people mind you), and shoots at my friend, he Alt+f4s, i lay down, and gun him down, and now i'm completely out of ammo of my AKM and my G17... one of my buddies is offline, and the other 2 are dead next to about 20 or 30 dead zombies. Now... i logged (to get rid of the rest of the zombies that were on me), and when i came back, i was passed out, and i heard footsteps... after i came back to life (cuz i wasn't bleeding out.. don't ask me how...) i checked, and all the bodies were hidden, and my friend who logged came back (on another server to be safe), and found he was bleeding and passed out, but i didn't have any epi-pens, and he was super tired so we're reviving him in the morning all of us had ALICE packs and TONS of ammo for all the guns... even blood bags, about 10 cooked steaks, bandages, the works.... cept that damn CZ-550 aggro'd like a bitch anyways, i logged on recently to a night server (with like 3 people), and made it the hell outta there... now i'm near Stary (cuz of the military camp, need more AKM ammo), and i'm hoping to not find anyone for a while, at least until i get my health/ammo back As for dying... I probably die most from players to be honest... We always move in a pack, and always have at least 1 spotter... but when we suspect enemies (via dead bodies, zeds and/or survivors), we always move cautiously. If we ever get the attention of any zombs, we usually just head to the field/woods and shoot them there, as to not get more following us We also try not to play on a night server, even if it means playing with 150+ ms... it's just bad when none of us have NVG As for guns... We usually go for some AKs, M4s, CCOs, Snipers,,, those kinds of weapons... Usually for 2 reasons 1. Zombies are not an issue when traveling in a pack, if you're by yourself, you should probably have a good anti-zombie weapon. However when with a team, and everyone having G17s or ACPs, you just need anti-people weapons... which are always shoot-on-site... low risk, low->high reward 2. Ammo is abundant in military areas and on other survivors... If you're trying to use something silly like the M1014 shotgun, ya you'll find ammo, but I bet i'll have 10 magazines of AK by the time you get 4 for the shotgun

No, but seriously, if you can't take death when you deserve to die, don't play this game. Most stuff I lost was recently, coyote backpack, M4A3 CCO, M9SD with ammos, tools, medical supplies and everything except NVGs, GPS and such. Simply took some bullets while in NW airfield. Dayz Life... Most stuff I lost stupidly was MP5SD and M9SD, ghillie, ALICE or coyote backpack, and I died.... crawling. No shot, no zed, just a bump in the terrain that my char couldn't handle. Alpha Dayz Life...

Ghillie suit, silenced M4 (6 mags), 6 cooked meat, Silenced M9, 2 grenades, 2 smoke, NVGs, coyote pack, all survival gear. Edit: Just wanted to add that if you're going to Alt+F4 to avoid death, then go play a different game.
