to your first question, no, there is no "Objective" as for your second, it is entirely skill and gear based. A lot of people just set up a sniper camp in highly populated areas and just wait for targets. Most people who rove in gangs are on teamspeak together, so if you want to take people on like that then go for it, but know the dangers ^_^
Theres that whole risk/reward thing also, if you find 4-5 people wandering around and you pick a fight with them and win, then you get a ton of gear, if you lose then back to the coast with you. But unless you have amazing gear and positioning, like having NVG's at night when they dont, you will probably just get killed.

Well is it realistic? I guess they can hear me shooting but can they spot you easily? Like in BF3 it's the biggest glare from the scope etc. Also can you somehow save your stuff? Like in a hidden stash or something

It is pretty upsetting though when you have someone in your sights, let them live, only to have them shoot you in the back a few seconds later. Especially if it was obvious you let them live.
Makes it hard not to shoot on sight which is a bit of a shame.....
Happened to me earlier today....I now just shoot on sight unless it's some noob with a makarov running along the coast.

No such thing as scope glare here. The only thing that could give you away if you're well hidden is muzzle flash and maybe sound, though it can be really hard to hear where the shots are coming from.
As for stashing stuff, there are tents you can find and set up somewhere secluded which function as a stash.

I predict if this things take off, Valve is going to hire these mod developers and make a new game call Day Z source or something along those line.

Except I doubt the Source engine could run a 225km² well. Plus they're already hired by BIS. rocket is at E3 with them.

So I'm having an issue where if I try to connect to a US server during the evening (for me) everything is nearly black even though in-game it's actually day and my friend is having the same issue, is this a known bug?
Speaking of which, is there a way to tell where you are or where north/south/west/east are during the night?

Do I need to run this from six updater everytime?

at night you can find the north star in the sky and navigate like that (apparently - i never really bothered to learn how, heh)

I've also heard that clouds are apparently always moving towards the east. Maybe someone can confirm that?

I bought ArmA 2 just for this mod, easily worth it. This game is much more fun if you gang up with some mates and pillage everything. The only thing I dislike so far (except from all bugs) is how bad the sounds are, especially the zombie ones. There is no way to determine which way the sound is coming from. Gunfire sounds are okay but its still very hard to hear where the shooter is.

Fun session tonight =D. Had a bunch of EU and US people join dallas 24 server, and everyone was heading northeast towards vybor. 2 died on the way there. once at vibor we went to loot the 2 barracks at NW airfield. one more died to some sniper dude.

Shoot one zombie then suddenly 10 more zombies come and kill you Sucks that they broke my legs cause we had just reached vybor.

Man how zombies act in close quarters inside of buildings really needs to be fixed. Nothing like running into a building to hide and setting up to shoot zombies as they walk down a narrow hallway, only to have them say fuck that shit and attack me/walk through the adjacent wall.
Also boats shouldn't break my bones when I touch them....

Well this is awkward. I ordered a physical copy of Operation Arrowhead, but just remembered that my laptop, which I will be using for the majority of the summer, doesn't have a CD/DVD slot.
Is there an easy "fix" for this? Can I just torrent the game, but input the real CD key or something?

Yes, you can.

The ability to alt-f4 is being abused quite a lot. I really hope the devs can come up with a good solution for it. I shot two guys who were camping the NW airfield fire station roof. I was 500m out and they didn't see it coming at all. My murder count even went up by 2, but they must have disc'd right away, because when Slomo got there a few minutes later the bodies werent there. Meh. It's more satisfying to kill someone if you get the loot.
It seems like there was virtually no bullet drop, possibly because the DMR can't be zeroed?

Fuckkk I'm in Vibor with a broken leg and no morphine.
