So does blood regenerate? Or the only way to replace it is by blood packs or something?
blood packs and food.
Cooked food gives more than canned ones.

So I went up to the nw airfield and every hanger was empty the fire hall had nothing and the radio tower had nothing not even empty cans... Is there a building I missed or did some one take it all just before me I saw survivors far south of the field but they were closer to stary sober... I left in a forest north of the field so should I bother even going back?
I have to check out stary sobor after hearing about how nice it is not too long of a walk

Well, once you get to the airfield, just keep disconnecting and reconnecting looking round the airfield on different servers.

You see, in my opinion doing these kind of things is no different than cheating, or exploiting. Sure there are some in-game challenges that can be resolved with workarounds similar to what you described, but you have to ask yourself the following: is the game supposed to be played like that?

Problem is it's a bit hard playing this game with a purist attitude when it's still in a buggy alpha phase. A lot of servers have (re)spawn issues and often times you'll find yourself running around and not finding anything anywhere. I agree with what you're saying, don't get me wrong, but it's hard to differentiate a bugged server with one that you just happen to be unlucky with.
I don't mean someone should log and farm one particular place, but if a particular building (especially one so far away) is completely empty I personally don't see a problem with checking another server.

I'm getting really annoyed that I keep reconnecting beside people, even when I disconnected in a different spot.
I think I'm gonna stop playing for a bit until all the retards get bored of the game. I'm so tired of getting killed instantly the moment someone sees me. If you really cared about your survival you would avoid anyone you see, not try you best to kill them immediately. Worst part is most people only have this mentality because of the select few that just fuck around in the game and kill for fun. I'd also blame the fact that you start with a gun and that weapons are pretty common in this. Encourages fighting rather than stealth and alliances.
I'm also sad that apparently the Arma engine can't handle melee. Kinda lame that 0 bullets = GG unless you find more, and that it will never change.
Has the creator posted anywhere what his end goal for this mod is? I mean it's still only the alpha, so there should be much much more in the full version.

You haven't played with the rest of us on teamspeak have you? That would probably be better for you, since you can definitely trust your fellow TLers. Teaming up to defeat attackers is really much easier.

I logged out in the area, so I'll check back later if someone can tell me if good loot spawns there.
Found a bandit at the top watching out when I went there, shot him in the back of the head and took his gear. But no decent loot spawns at all, not worth the trip.

On the reconnecting near guys issue, its a bug that's spawning people at the coast even if they have not died, which means the upper areas are much less populated than normal I find. I generally just try to avoid people completely unless with TL members. Am going on soon, about 30 mins from now.

I so hope there is gonna be a summer sale on arma 2 on steam ^^

Yea normally I'd be on your side here Al and, for the most part, I tend to avoid exploits wherever possible, but given that this is a test phase where so much can go wrong due to lag or bugs or whatever (I glitched through a castle floor randomly and died, losing all my stuff, for example) I don't necessarily think it's that bad to use these glitches to your advantage, for the purpose of testing more end-game stuff in this Alpha version.
At least, as long as you're not directly affecting anyone else's experience by doing so. I mean, I've been grateful on occasions that, after I've died due to glitches, I've got lucky and the server has glitched, respawning me with all my stuff. Now, I could say that I want to play the game, fair and square, and keep suiciding till i get a fresh start, but I'd rather see what this game has to offer in the long-term, when given the opportunity to do so.
Having said that, I've never switched servers to respawn loot (I didn't even realise it worked that way). I tend to be happy just doing circuits of major loot points on foot. It takes a bit longer this way, but I just love exploring new places in this game.

There are anti-material rifles like the m107 that can take out helos in one shot. I've found ammo for it but never the gun.
|
Here's a useful tip - laying prone in long grass hides you from Zombies but not other players.
If you're in firefight with a player who's far away, the grass wont be drawn on his screen, so the only benefit you'll receive from proning is presenting a smaller target with steadier aim.

Fairly action packed day on the server! Four of us, including jtype and SloMo(Kevin) (and was it disregard as the fourth?), linked up over at green mountain and headed up to Starry. We looted the grocery store there and were headed across town to the military tents when we heard shots. Wasn't any of us.
We encountered a lone survivor with a CZ across the field around the tents and opened fire on him with our AKs, but he dropped one of the other guys before I picked him off. I went over to loot his body, and ended up avoiding the 2nd survivor who ran up and exchanged shots with our third guy. He pulled a horde of zombies after him who devoured them both, leaving just me and SloMo to loot the tents. We found some great shit though. I got an MP5SD and he got an M16, I believe.
We headed over to the airfield next, which is when the fun really started. We hid in a small grove near the hangars while we scoped out the area with our binoculars, at which point SloMo disc'd. I was a bit wary of being alone at this point, so I hung back in the woods for a bit. Luckily enough, I saw a fellow survivor crawling between the entrances of the two hangars. A perfect opportunity, I thought, to put my MP5SD to good use. I put a few rounds into him, and he dropped. I was surprised to find him still alive at that point, but a headshot at point blank ended that. I looted an M4A2 CCO off of his body, with lots of ammo. Someone else can have that tomorrow, as I finally managed to make my way back to Starry Sobor.
Anyway, the good part is when the Russians in the chopper came. We had been seeing many deaths. Apparently they had been terrorizing Elektro and Cherno for a while, and they had working LMGs on the chopper! I think they ended up spotting SloMo when they came over to the airfield to refuel, so they buzzed the hangar he was looting. This caused zombies to aggro like no other, and they proceeded to glitch through the walls and hit him at lightning speed.

No it wasnt me, never been to green mountain. We should visit the northeast airfield some time and maybe look look for helo crash sites.

DayZ is one badass game. Its what PC gaming needed for the last five years.

Thanks for the info, I can't access the Dayz site atm, I think its down due to so many people updating

Hatchet sounds awesome, female character pretty cool. Glad the bugs got fixed, and I really want to find a crashed heli. Would be so awesome. I seemed to always get the bug where player bodies disappeared almost straight away, that sucked a lot. Was at the airfield and shot a guy and saw him fall from the ladder he was on. However afterwards I couldn't find him or confirm he was dead and ended up getting jumped by his buddy I think. I heard him crying out a couple of times but it was pitch black.
such an awesome game, will be on tonight

I've come across about 4 crashed heli's, none of which had any loot whatsoever =[. I'm really hoping for a tent fix in the near future. I'm packed to the brim with stuff and I really don't want to go on with the game without stashing it all in a tent somewhere..
