What is the probability of failure on a level 1 upgrade? like 50%? 13 failures in a row is like.... Omg I could've won the fucking lottery if I had that luck on something useful. FML!

I'm pretty sure they get harder to obtain! Actually, they just use different materials. Currently, most released high-level cards take a lot of Cat Dolls to craft. So everyone is unintentionally stocking up on other materials. Future card releases will use those materials more heavily, so you won't have to farm nearly as much if you've already been grinding ^^

It is not to hard to determine what the plays are with knowledge of your opponents hand and field, but that is rarely the case. I think the majority of play-skill comes from knowing the meta and therefore knowing what cards your opponent is likely to have/draw into and the correct counters for both his current and potential future plays. I don't know too much about MtG but in YuGiOh there is a tendency among bad players to always go for the play that gives them the most advantage, in a vacuum. Then your opponent plays something to negate it or draws into/searches the card they need to counter what you just did. Ingame playing skill level is determined by your ability to understand your opponents cards and do your plays at the right timing, baiting them into playing something you know you can counter, etc. It's not too much, particularly in YGO, but it definitely exists. Smart deck construction is probably more important though. But player skill is a huge element. I've won countless games with weaker decks and in bad matchups by baiting my opponent smartly and waiting until the right timing to make plays. Understanding the weaknesses of certain decks is important too. For instance, HERO decks often burn their hands out very quickly, so in my opinion it is fine to burn most of your negation/control cards early in the game because they don't really generate card advantage unless they get their fusions out past the first few turns. Sword Girls has a much smaller amount of cards/tech choices than more established CCG's thus it is easier to learn how each deck runs and all of the choices that player might have. In yugioh (moreso than magic even) there is a huge possibility for variance between decks of the same type because they don't have block formats. This means it is easier to predict your opponents plays, particularly when the field is setup the way it is, YGO and Magic play so much more out of the hand and you don't really get a chance to predict what your opponents next move is unless you are super familiar with their decktype and all the tech possibilites for their decktype

SGO has like, 3 eps released? thats basically like first/second edition, if you're wondering why theres such a small collection of cards Also mechanics of actually playing your deck is 90% knowing the meta and just general obvious plays, it's the same for all TCG... I mean, yeah there are players who don't know the meta and don't know how to make basic plays with a deck, but really the fun in the game is deck construction through the meta... Either way i'm having fun so come play or don't....

I lost track a bit, but it took me at least 17 tries to succeed once at upgrading. I did it for the quest and don't plan on using it again in the foreseeable future. From what I can gather it's completely not worth it to use on rarer cards without using tokens. And since tokens are better spent on almost anything else it means upgrading is really only for people that plan on spending money to buy more tokens. Once you've gotten all the cards you want it might be worth it to upgrade. But once again there is no feasible way to do this without spending money since it takes a fair amount of grinding to get all the cards you'd want.

It allows you to look up cards and has the total cost of materials for higher level cards not just the ingredients you need to make them http://swordgirls.wikia.com/wiki/Sword_Girls_Wiki
