If I remember correctly the animation thingy does go off, but the actual effect doesn't trigger. I can't remmber exactly whether we're talking about the same thing, but I think I was confused by that, too.

It seems to me that decks are just rock/paper/scissors or completely luck based (I draw X before you draw Y and I win, else, I lose). There doesn't seem to be much strategy in what to play when since you appear to be able to regularly dump your hand and maybe sandbag a removal spell for some big thing. Battles are completely random so there's no strategy there... It just doesn't seem deep to me and I foresee much frustration when the ONLY POSSIBLE attack that could lose me the game happens over and over because the AI is derp and facing people who grinded for longer/paid more stomping me over and over with me having no strategic recourse. I'm thinking about giving this a try, but those are my reservations in doing so, where am I right and where am I wrong? Basically most of the strategy is in deck building (even tho there is a lot during the game), for example i use a deck that focuses around getting size 1 card in slot 1, size 2 card in slot 2, because i have buffs that buff cards if their size = slot number (its also a debuff deck). The strategy during the game is setting up the field so i can put those cards in the right slots (you shouldn't plan on getting a perfect hand in the first turn). Every move you make will be dependent on what race you are playing against as they focus on different things but its all about maximizing your chances. For example.. There is a super buff monster on the field with a lot of armor so i throw out a monster that can make the defense 0 and then throw out cheap monsters i don't need to buffer the main monster so it can get the job done. once the defense is removed to 0 i throw out stronger monsters/debuffs to kill it (not saying this is the best way to go about it but yeah, just describing a strategy you can use while in the game). There are cards that will instant kill a monster (one of them being a size 2 spell), and if you are good enough there cards you can use to stop it if you can figure out when your opponent will use the card (assuming you know he has it). Ways to do this will be looking at his size already on the field and then looking at how many cards he put down that turn, if he has 4 size already on the field then throws down 3 cards, its a good bet one of them will be the size 2 spell card that can kill your buffed monster. I do agree it is annoying in pvp when you go up a deck that is simply better because they grinded more then you, but it is still possible to win and feels amazing when you do. Just a few min ago beat a guy who sent out two 33 point cards (good cards) and i have no 33 point cards as of right now but with good strategy i was able to use my lower point cards efficiently enough to kill the two 33 point cards and eventually win the duel. Hopefully that all makes sense =P i typed in a hurry as im hungry and want food!! Thanks for this! I was wondering where the strategy was as well. Now, I have a better understanding of what the strategy is like, and it has removed the doubts I had about this game being too shallow ^^

![]() ID: lyxina (small letter L) Deck: Darklore added you guys. let's help training! does anyone have experience with upgrading? someone in the chat told me, it's about 10% success chance for 1 random stat to increase (or size could also decrease). weirdly, in one of the beginner quests, where you have to try to upgrade a "game starter" card, it seems i had dice luck and i now have a 6/1/6 (standard: 5/1/5). so, anyone knows how exactly this works? can more stats increase? anyway this seems really expesive and risky if you try it with higher lvl cards, and always lose the copy of the card if you fail :/ (and you dont pay)

Aside from that the game is pretty cool, definetly enjoying it. It just sucks losing because you didn't get to first attack for 6 straight turns (like it happened to me). Also is there a wiki or a place where I can get some nice guides? Specially for upgrading cards and basic deck-building strats. *Edit: DrOoo - Darklore

You can give them gifts (either cards or purchased) to upgrade them to one of five forms. See the "Characters" tab of this spreedsheet. There are also tabs that will tell you what character traits each card will increase and a few people have logged their transformations. The amount of "like" each card gives is apparently random. Depending on your faction, this will give you the best character for your deck. The "Hot Springs" cards are generally good as well (if available for your faction). The have a Deck Point of only 1 while upgraded characters have a DP of 20 which means more space for powerful cards in your deck for ladder. These are crafted though. Finally, you can get character cards by beating a dungeon 10 times. See the character spreadsheet above for their effects. Generally playable and better than the default character but usually there are better end options than them.

As I can no longer make the top 3 for a cash prize, I thought I'd share so that others can see what the current play on the ladder is like. Note that all decks are limited to 300 DP. Included below are 13 matches (one match the recording got messed up on) with some light editing to remove some of the waiting delays. Enjoy. 04/16/2012 matches: 04/17/2012 matches: thanks very useful :o can you by any chance post a decklist? edit: wtf crux fatties makes it to top 20???? Ok that's it, im spending money and i'm gonna make a hybrid swarm deck lol
