I'm dying a lot, not sure if I'm even in the right place and constantly have no humanity to select the reverse hollow option, despite collecting some, and I don't even know why I'd want to do it. Didn't really understand what I was doing on the level up option either. I feel like I'd need to watch a 30 minute tutorial just to get the basics, but there doesn't seem to be one. ![]() Will say, the first boss (well, I assume it was a boss) was fun, even if it killed me repeatedly for quite a while. Don't worry about reverse hollowing, you can beat the whole game without even doing it once. It's mainly used for multiplayer things (and to get NPC help and kindle bonfires). The humanities you find as items, you need to use to actually get the humanity. The humanity counter is up to the left of your health, usually a big zero. Basic guide to leveling up: Unless you're doing a specific build, your main goal is to get vitality and endurance to 40, which gives you health and stamina. This is the easiest way to play the game since this gives a lot of margin of error when it comes to getting hit, and with a good upgraded shield, you can tank pretty much anything with high enough endurance. Strength and dexterity are used to improve your damage, BUT, this only helps if your weapon scales with those stats, and it needs to scale pretty good + your stats need to be high to get enough damage output to make it worth it. Your first playthrough, you should probably ignore both stats (only get enough to equip the gear you want) and then go for lightning or fire weapons (those weapons do not scale at all, so they do good damage regardless of str/dex). intelligence can be completely ignored unless you want to use magic. Same with faith (though having heal miracle is not bad to save etus flasks). Attunement is the same, you just want enough to get the spell slots you want, having too many spell slots is not really useful.

I don't know how to do any of the moves because i don't know how the xbox buttons displayed in those "help" things correspond with keys on the keyboard. How do I do that lunge thing they are talking about? Or the parry? Or the drop attack that would have been really useful 5 seconds after reading the note -_-. I think I'm just going to go buy a controller -_-. Jump attack is done by using a normal attack while in the air, the game handles the rest. It's also only useful at like 5 points in the whole game, so it's not a big deal.

reverse hollow - lets you talk to certain npcs and buy items from them, and also increases your resistences to curse and some other stuff. allows you to kindle fires while in human form. humanity - fully heals you when used, i usually save a few for that. gives you increased item find (finding armor/weapons off monsters) that caps at 10 used humanity, risk is that if you die and die on the way back to your corpse you will lose it all.

You need another humanity to kindle the flame, each kindling costs a humanity in addition to having to use one to reverse hollowing. Don'y worry about the soul loss. 4000 is absolutely nothing. Some later single enemies drop that much. You'll get 50,000-300,000 killing a guy in pvp. Don't worry about leveling up too much either. Leveling up doesn't actually do all that much for you, and never level a stat past 50. What you really want to spend your souls on is upgrading your equipment at the blacksmith, it's a hundred times more important than leveling up.

Someone earlier said they just bought a third-party XBox controller to avoid the "mothafuckin' bullshit." Not sure myself, but look into it if it pisses you off so much.

Gotta say, loving the mechanics of this game, still, very early in, like 2 or 3 hrs at most, but its a blast so far. The only thing i dont like is how confusing the castle im in is, hard to tell where im going, or supposed to go, but a little exploration never hurt anyone ![]()

Such a shame that the PC port seems to be quite sloppy done. Still, so sweet to see a new breed of Souls players joining the small community :D Enjoy your gameover screens <3

Hahah dude it happened to me aswell, I was soooo raged. So I went on and tried to get my souls back while fighting him. When you'll figure out - if you didn't already - how to kill that Taurus Demon you'll feel great if you can retrieve these souls : )) (over this one is really easy to kill tho : d) On August 25 2012 05:47 Ventil wrote: Have roughly 250h spent in the Xbox version. I would recommend people to buy this game, they just have to be aware it is not the perfect-for-pc game, just a port.
