Maybe a swashbuckling scimitar dex build that flips around(I really like my painting guardian build personally), or a mace/axe cleric dedicated to making people see the light(at the end of the tunnel), or you could do an evil black knight pyromancer, or some kind of sorcerer (magical warrior or pure caster), perhaps even a master archer who eschews close combat. The chosen undead has so little history before he became chosen, so you can make whatever story you like with your character. There's so many ways to play the game, though if you don't want to use the non-str weapons too much a mage build might be a good way to go.

My reflexes aren't all there, so I'm not too excited about PvP yet (I've died to literally everyone who's invaded me). More or less, I'm just looking for different ways to play. I did a shield, light armor and a heavy weapon already. The game is also hard enough for me that I'm not at the point of handicapping myself like a few others suggested (unless playing with keyboard and mouse counts).

In that case a build that focuses on one of the magic schools might be good. Sorceries and Pyromancies are both really strong PvE (not many offensive miracles but heal is nice), and are more about positioning and timing than straight reflexes, unlike a dex build which requires you to be fairly good with both reflexes and timing. PvP takes a lot of practice before you start to get the hang of it anyway, and str builds are probably the easiest for it as is, magic often leaves you vulnerable, though some of the spells are powerful enough to one-shot people, and dex builds often need a lot of extra hits to whittle people down. Dex builds might not be the challenge you are looking for, but Mage builds are pretty easy overall.

graphics and FPS issues aren't an issue on PC but there is a little bit less 'community'.

I just finished my first playthrough (during which i was mostly undead), and thought i'd try playing a different type of character. With the knowledge of the game and the skills i gained, i thought it would be a good idea to be alive for most of it. Now, i already got invaded twice by absurdly high leveled characters in undead burg so far, which were basically immortal to my attacks and oneshot me. But not only that, they also make me unable to leave the game or use bonfire for the long periods they just stand around laughing at me. One of them followed me around and kicked me whenever i engaged enemies until i noticed that i could actually hurt him with my bandits knife, at which point he was forced to kill me with one hit. This reliably happened within 5-10 minutes of me being alive. So basically, is the only way to play this game to just always stay dead and just reverse that to kindle bonfires? And really, what exactly is even the point of that whole nonsense? It seems to be mostly there just so people can grief others after they have kindled a bonfire. I don't understand why this system is even there in a pure singleplayer game. Probably just to justify bullshit G4WL. Is there any point to being alive at all other then if you want to get raped by people 50-100 levels ahead of you?

You really don't need to be human except to get help from npcs or friends on boss fights. I think the ideal amount of humanity for magic find was like 10 so it's not super crucial to have a ton of it on reserve.

Also, invaders can only be below your level (red ones at least), but they probably have ridic gear, either through a glitch (did they fix this?) or just grinding through the game at low levels in order to do just that. It is pretty random, but as was mentioned, there's no real reason to be human (at least not a good enough one to justify dealing with invasions) unless you want to summon another person / NPC to help with a boss, or kindle a bonfire. If there's an invader trolling you, run to a place relatively near where you'll respawn so your leftovers are nearby and just kill yourself by jumping off somewhere or what not.

Should be specific areas where you can 'invite' challengers, not just a free for all the second you become human. Perhaps when you get over 10 humanity it should be possible to invade.

Well the only way to invade is the use of red eye/cracked red eye orbs, most of the other PvP related stuffs rely on you putting down a sign and someone essentially "accepting" your challenge. But yes there are assholes that just get really good gear with very low soul level and invade the beginner area. This was also an issue with Demon's Souls, which caused people to just never play online. My advice would be to just stay undead until you need to kindle or need NPC help.

It's a lot easier that I thought it will be. They said ennemies have up to 5 time the health and 2 time the damage, but I really don't feel it yet. ![]()

The second playthrough is arguably the easiest one since your character has all the good gear which you don't have in your first playthrough, and the enemies strength has increased minimally. The later New Games will be alot more difficult.

I guess it's a good one to see how fast you can go throught the game. By the way, is there any reason to use the Gold Tracer of Ciaran in Off Hand when your doing PvE ? No block / No parry seems really dangerous... I love this weapon, but i've only been using it in main hand so far
