I think all they have to do is attach the net to the goal, just like soccer, therefore we can tell if it in or not right away.

It's making the NFL look like real hypocrites in my eyes. They talk a lot about safety when it comes to fining the players, but they aren't willing to pay for some decent officiating. They fired a head coach and half a team's defense for the entire season, for doing something that good officiating is supposed to keep in check anyways. You can tell players are testing what they can get away with, and things get heated as a result, as we just saw in the Pats/Ravens game. It's ruining the games' integrity, and it's encouraging players to take more penalty-risks. But, yeah, let's continue to fine the coaches and players who are just trying to win games while we use shlucky 3rd-string referees.

These referees are terrible. Chris Collinsworth was pretty much begging the NFL to work out a deal by the end of the game. So much crap and so many things players are taking advantage of since no one knows what they are doing out there. This better end soon.

Isn't the only time you want to be able to review something like that when it is really close like that? There weren't any cameras on top of the field goals or something that could help? There are no cameras that are lined up with the goal posts. So there are no dead-on camera angles that could provide you with the conclusive evidence to overturn a FG call like that. The only camera that is near the goal posts (to my knowledge), is the camera by the crossbar itself.

That game was a total joke, so many bad calls for both teams and so many penaltys that were not called. And just stupid decsions by the refs like measuring a 4 and 1 when it was clearly a yard away from the first down marker, giving the ravens more time to figure out what they wanted to do.

I watched the Oakland win and the fourth quarter was truly horrible. There were like three plays in a row where the Steeler defense committed helmet to helmet and/or hitting a defenseless player fouls and were not called on it. On multiple plays on multiple games I watched the refs mishandled the game clock after a penalty, sometimes letting more than 10 seconds run off that were not supposed to be gone. The league needs to end this strike, they're looking worse and worse every week and giving the refs a better and better position.
