Ahhh, what?! LeSean McCoy
That's scary. Refs should be banned from playing fantasy football, imo. Even something as stupid as that could lead to bias in decision making. I'm sure the league will put in an inquiry to McCoy to see who it was that said that to him.

Same sort of situation happened in the CAR-NO game, one of the replacement refs from that game had to be pulled out because he was a Saints fan.

Meachem is been kind of a bust for me as well.
LeShoure looked pretty good in the preseason games. I definitely think he'll be the starting RB for the Lions once he comes off his suspension. Turner is old, fat and is only useful for poaching goal-line TD's now.

Wow, the Broncos are way too low, especially if the Falcons are that high. As a fan of both teams, I think the Broncos are better than the Bears this year.
As a total fanboy, I think the Broncos are the second best team in the AFC this year behind the Texans, and the third or fourth best team in the league.
My top 5: SF Hou Denver Atlanta Bunch of teams could go here. GB, NE, Baltimore...

Niners really are a joy to watch. Such a rock solid team in every respect. I can't think of another team in many many years that has been so balanced overall, at least consistently. Texans are pretty damned good too. Nice to see that 2 of the best teams in the league are such complete football teams unlike the more recent trend of better teams being great on one side of the ball and basically atrocious on the other.
Pretty crazy that Alex Smith is becoming one of my favorite QBs in the league...

I'm holding out on how i feel about texans just waiting for them to play a team that isn't shit.

That's why I feel comfortable with my Broncos over Texans pick. I mean if Tebow can do it, surely Peyton can!

Edit: Also is there somewhere I can go to voice my displeasure with the replacement refs? Pretty sure pen/paper letters would get the most attention.. (I probably won't be mailing one from EU). NFL Officiating 345 Park Avenue New York, NY 10017 I'm going to try sending a message from http://www.nfl.com/contact-us (other).
I've decided that it's also time to go "esports" on the NFL - contact their sponsors.
(found a decent list here)
Haven't found all the email contacts yet (some are pretty well hidden).

NFL too big to go esports on. Lots of people unhappy with the ref situation, yet the Monday night game had over 15 million viewers. Best bet is to complain about player safety, and let the players get more vocal about it.

Honestly, I think Davis comes around. He's got a rookie qb. Those guys tend to always use their TE.
Honestly, you don't have a lot of room to trade without potentially hurting yourself. YOu've got a lot of good backs, but three very injury prone dudes. Stevie Johnson and buffalo is just an iffy offense that is feast or famine. Britt is due for an arrest any day now, and Williams is the 2nd or third wideout on his team.
It is ppr in a 10 man league. Gonzalez is pretty useless for him, because there is no flex position. It is 3 wr, 2rb and 1 TE. He got graham in a trade. Also he is pretty weak at running back. So, i proposed mike williams, and he responded saying he wants fred jackson for tony gonzalez. I just picked up m. bennett(NYG) to replace fred davis. I do not think an injured fjax is worth gonzalez. What do you guys think?

I would agree about Denver being better if only because they have an oline. Fuck, the bears is so fucking awful. I thought they were improved until that GB game.
However, top 5 team in the league, no way. Top 10 maybe, but I don't think that D is great. It is certainly better than average, and that is more than enough for Peyton if they get good peyton and not two picks in four attempts Peyton.

I don't think Denver wins, but Seattle is absolutely a possibility. That D is really good, and they've got a legit very good secondary, where as the niners have a pretty good secondary and a fucking ridiculous front 7. I think the Hawks can definitely cover the Wrs. It is a matter of them getting to rodgers I think. I think Lynch runs all over them. Russell just has to not turn over the ball and get a TD in there and they can very easily be in there.
Ne and Balt should be fun too, as should TB and Dallas. I will probably watch a bit of the Miami and Jets game, if only because there may be a riot if Sanchez doesn't play great.
What the fuck happened to CInci's D?? They were very solid last year and I scooped them in a lot of leagues thinking they'd be a nice pick. I figured Balt was an abberation, but they'd smoke Cleveland and fuck.

Ehhhhh.... I still am not totally sold on CJ spiller. I think he ran on the Jets because they were up by 3-4 tds and weree sitting back watching for passes, and the Chiefs are just that awful. He also plays the browns this week, so we still won't know what his deal is.
I would be more worried about Fred Jackson not getting back in if Spiller smoked some good Ds. Honestly, I think they'll split stuff., maybe 60-40 for Fred.

Hawk, sig bet on the Broncos game? I'm not just betting they'll win, I'm guaranteeing they'll win. They're absolutely a top five team this season. The D is vastly improved, and so is the offense. If Porter remembers how to catch at some point, they'll be a dominant D.

So I'm terrified of my receivers in one of my 10-man leagues where I am currently 1-1. My lineup:
QB: Brees, Freeman RB: Richardson, Reggie Bush, BJGE, Stewart WR: Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant, Torrey Smith, Andrew Hawkins, Titus Young TE: Graham DST: Ravens K: Matt Bryant
We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 DST, 1 K, no flex. Standard scoring, no ppr.
I thought that would be a pretty decent receiving corps before the first game, but all three of my starts are the definition of unreliability. I also feel that I'm a bit deeper at RB than I need to be, although Stewart could go down with an injury at any time.
Would it be a good trade to try to pawn off Fitz plus one of my backs for a No. 1/No. 2 receiver in a somewhat reliable offense? I'm panicking on his chances in Arizona but if he has a couple more performances like those in the first two weeks I won't be able to get anything for him.
|
grrrr. I am having a hard time deciding between starting gore or mathews as my rb2.
I think Fitz will get better as the season goes on. He can't be this bad all year.
|
He averaged almost 90 yards a game last year with the same dumpster fire at quarterback.
You sell now after a 1 catch, 4yd performance, you're gonna get butt raped and your partner isn't gonna have the decency to even spit for lube.
General rule of thumb is to wait week four or so to get a clearer picture of a player's performance, unless you've got injury issues or there is a guy you missed in the draft that you really want.
Go with Gore, even if Matthews is playing, since he might get eased back in in his first week and Gore is facing a shit ass Vikings squad.
|
I have Fitz starting and Torrey Smith as a backup in my league this year, too. They're both disappointing, though at least I haven't had to start Smith yet. Good thing I managed to get Reggie Wayne and Malcom Floyd off the scrap heap in the later rounds.
I'm going to stick with Fitz for now. Kolb can't keep missing him.
