Sidney Rice should be ready to go week 1. Detroit doesn't have a backfield, well anyone worth having on a fantasy team. Best with his concussion is already ruled out of week one. Leshoure out for week one due to a suspension. Their likely starter is Kevin Smith but currently struggling with an ankle injury. Arizona's looks like Wells, Williams and then Howling. Wells is fine, but will always have the injury. Mendenhall was recently taken off of the pup list, odds high that he will miss at least 5-6 games.
fyi I learned tonight as I drafted him in like the 9th or 10th but Kenny Britt only got one game. Big time fantasy snipe if you can get him. He was averageing 65 yds a game two years ago, and in his three games last year had 95.

But he'll probably get arrested (lolololo I drafted him too) and I think their wrs and qb situation is mediocre at best. I don't think 9-7 gets them a wildcard. The NFC north has three teams that are much better and will fight for a wildcard spot. the NFC south has at least two. I would be absolutely amazed if they unseated the Niners. A good D only goes so far -- the niners unit dragged the team to almost 500 records in the last few seasons before the offense finally caught up. The Hawks o isnt there yet. Everyone outside of Baldwin sucks at WR, or is permanently crippled in the case of Rice. Winslow could be a really solid pick up though.
They're not a top team in the league, and I'm by no means pro-seattle, but 9-7 at best is a dumb thing to say. Let me put it this way, do you think it's impossible for this to happen:
@ Arizona - W vs Dallas - W vs Green Bay - L @ St. Louis - W vs New England - L @ San Fran - L @ Detroit - L vs Minnesota - W vs New York Jets - W @ Miami - W @ Chicago - W vs Arizona - W @ Buffalo - W vs San Fran - L vs St. Louis - W
There's a lot of easy wins on the schedule, and a few up in the air ones like Dallas, Chicago, both Niners games (I know people are high on the Niners, but with an offense that bad vs a good Seattle defense it's very reasonable to think Seattle could win one) and the Jets. Any win you want to take away from me, I can flip and say that it isn't impossible for them to beat SF at home, or Detroit, etc. There's a lot of winnable games there.
They've got their fair share of problems, but literally every single team does. They're a solid team who have a SHOT at the playoffs. That's more than you can say for most of the teams in the league.
I'm not too big on huge naysaying before the games are played unless the team is just destitute (hello Minnesota). I predicted the Bengals to be a .500 or better team last year when everyone and their mothers were saying they were the worst in the league without bothering to look at schedule or any of the positives of the team. A team is not the sum of its problems.
edit -- All of that said, I was thinking this BEFORE they decided to start a 3rd round Rookie QB. Let's hope he's solid like Dalton was or i'll have a lot of egg on my face.

Only thing exciting about the short suspension is figuring Lynch will get something similar if even a suspension. Britt is too much of an injury risk. With uncertainty of how in synch he will be with Locker. Since Locker has already show good chemistry with Washington and Wright. Would feel more secure in that round picking up a Steven Johnson or Antonio Brown, and picking up Washington or Wright later.

I'm def in the top 4 in the league, one of the more well rounded teams. I think I probably could have gone WR in the 4th and TE in the 5th for some better value. Not crazy about WRs, but I also would much prefer to be strong at RB/QB/TE. Looking to flip one of those QBs for a good WR at some point I am sure. I can def get at least a WR2 for one of them. Ryan is sick value. Not thrilled about 3 SD players but it can work.
Overall I think I did well for picking at 9.
You were in a league where your flex is WR/RB/TE, with no must-play TE position? Your 4th pick hurt your team's overall power by quite a bit, especially since you reached for a RB3. It's as if you skipped a pick there (unless you mistyped your league settings). Ryan Mathews has been going early third to late fourth, so I think that was quite a bit of a reach too - although I can see it if you're really high on him or there was literally nobody else on the board (sounds impossible though). Instead of taking Fjax, you should have picked up a WR if possible, so you weren't stuck with Antonio Brown as your WR #1. Don't get me wrong, I love AB more than the average guy (he helped me win all of my cash leagues last year), but having him as your #1 is just rough. You could have then swung around to pick up Reggie Bush or Darren Sproles, who are really solid at RB 3. Nice pickup on Rivers. Obviously I don't know how your league's draft went pick-by-pick, but there are a lot of glaring weaknesses that I feel could have been addressed with better draft management. Although for a 12 man league it could be a heck of a lot worse... but it could have been a lot better as well. GL
Here's my latest 10-man cash league draft (0.5 PPR, QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-TE-(RB/WR/TE)-(WR/TE)-DEF) 1. (6) Darren McFadden 2. (15) Chris Johnson 3. (26) A.J. Green 4. (35) Brandon Marshall 5. (46) Demaryius Thomas 6. (55) Aaron Hernandez 7. (66) Shonn Greene 8. (75) Philip Rivers 9. (86) C.J. Spiller 10. (95) Nate Washington 11. (106) Greg Little 12. (115) Peyton Hillis 13. (126) Matt Schaub 14. (135) Michael Bush 15. (146) Eagles
Shipped Shonn Greene + Michael Bush for Ryan Matthews, picked up Coby Fleener from the FA pool. The guy needed some depth at RB pretty bad, so it was actually decent trade for him (he had slim to none chance of winning each week Mathews sat out). So I'm happy starting Nate Washington in my flex until Mathews gets healthy. Yeah, I know I got lucky that Chris Johnson tabled (7 and 8 refused to touch him). Also know that getting Michael Bush at 135 was close to criminal. @5 had to choose between Demaryius and Jordy, probably picked wrong on that one. And yeah, I shoulda drafted bush earlier but hey... still got him anyway.

True, but honestly I think Rivers will be fine as long as the O-line holds up. The year before last, Rivers was still destroying scoreboards with only a not-so-health Antonio Gates to throw to. This year word is Antonio is 100%, although they did lose Vincent Brown for the first 6-8, Malcolm Floyd should still be a good target. He might struggle in the first couple games without Mathews, but hey... Even if he does suck, Schaub looks pretty good too :D
Doing another 10-man cash draft (Standard 1-2-3 format), and got put 10th (which drives me crazy). Watched Dez Bryant and Percy Harvin come off the board before I was able to pick them up Team so far is: QB - Drew Brees RB - Demarco Murray RB - Jamaal Charles WR - Hakeem Nicks WR - Demaryius Thomas WR - Antonio Brown Being 10th sucks -.-
edit: For whatever reason, this guy decided to reach for Peyton Hillis in the middle of the 6th, behind his picks of McCoy + FJax, and he doesn't even have a 3rd WR -_____-

CJ2K is going to have an amazing year I think. McFadden is easy top 5 RB if he stays healthy. He won't, but if he miraculously does, he's top 5. I'm surprised you took Greene so high though. You were pretty lucky to get that trade for Matthews. I think you chose right between Demaryius and Jordy. There's no way Jordy is gonna repeat and if Manning plays like Manning, then Thomas should have a great year. Also, I don't care what anyone says, I love Rivers, great pickup in my opinion.
On a separate note, how come I'm seeing all these fantasy pools that have multiple flex spots? I don't like being in a pool that has any flex spots. I think it takes away from the risk of deciding who to play and who to draft. Most likely you will play 3 RB and 3 WR right? But if one of your RB gets injured,*cough* McFadden *cough*, then you can just dump in a WR and not lose too much sleep over it. Nate Washington won't put up numbers close to DMcFad, but it's better than having to drop someone and picking up say, Kendall Hunter.
Also what do you guys think of Michael Floyd? I drafted Mike Williams late in my draft, and I'm considering dropping him, and picking up Floyd. If he had a better QB than Kolb, I would have done it in a heartbeat, but as it stands I'm not sure. Last year I picked up Cruz around Week 4 and we all know how that turned out. I'm big on taking chances with rookies, but there are a lot this year that have potential to explode.
My league has a flex spot where you could put a RB/WR/TE. In a ppr league, 1 point in our case, RBs and WRs are close in value. I think I reached a few times with my picks but it seems decent overall.
9 Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR 12 Matt Forte, Chi RB 29 Eli Manning, NYG QB 32 Jordy Nelson, GB WR 49 Willis McGahee, Den RB 52 Vernon Davis, SF TE 69 Reggie Bush, Mia RB 72 Torrey Smith, Bal WR 89 Reggie Wayne, Ind WR 92 Robert Griffin III, Wsh QB 109 Fred Davis, Wsh TE 112 Felix Jones, Dal RB 129 Lions D/ST D/ST 132 David Akers, SF K 149 Malcom Floyd, SD WR 152 Rashad Jennings, Jac RB
I mistyped those settings, I have a TE and then the flex. Whoops!
And yeah, in retrospect I am meh on the draft. When i did that, Matthews was still a clear first rounder because everyone thought he'd be back still. I def should have gone wr in the first (tron was on) but oh well. I should have gone wr in the 4th for sure.
Also, about the Seahawks, yeah they could get lucky here and there, but I think there is no way they beat Chicago, SF is definitely improved over last year and is far superior in pretty much every facet except for the secondary. I also think Dallas probably wins that game too.
I dunno, I just don't think a rookie qb who beats out your big fa acquisition at qb inspires a lot of confidence in that offense. it's not impossible to get that record, but I just think that their D is their best part of their team by far, and it is good but not great.

Its such a strange concept to take a WR in the first round for ppl who have been drafting for a long time, but thats where the game is going so we have to adapt lol.

RB depth is also questionable this year because of all the top RBs from last year who are coming back from injuries. Then there is MJD's holdout and Chris Johnson's motivation issues. A lot of the RBs that would previously get drafted in the second and third rounds or have people reach for them in the first round have fragility issues.
RB depth is DEFINITELY questionable this season. Lots of guys prone to injury, lots of guys coming off injury, lots of guys currently dealing with injuries. Ryan Mathews injury coupled with Trent Richardson surgeries shook up drafts a lot. I had been doing mock drafts since 3 months out, and I've gotten to see first hand how the "metagame" in the draft has shifted over time, especially with all these injuries. Nab those RBs while you can. Also Reggie Bush is a steal as a RB2 or RB3 if you can nab him in the 5th.
The leagues that matter to me, I went with a top three qb in the first one of the big two te's in the second. Rodgers/Graham my duo this year. Nearly guaranteed production with the those picks. That saves stress from the RB's that will cause worry. While still being capable of picking up two decent RB's in the next two rounds. WR so deep it doesn't even matter.
It's crazy how youth orientated teams are going with positions like QB. There are a lot of decentish backup QBs on the market right now. I'm not saying there are any studs out there, but at this point with the way the Cardinals have looked, they should be holding open tryouts for starting QB (and OL as well, but I don't know as much about OL players). Then again it's not like Seneca Wallace or Josh Johnson would take the Cardinals to the SuperBowl anytime soon, so they must be tank mode (which means Wisenhunt is most likely gone).
So I just finished my first draft. 14-team league. To be honest I don't know what to think about it. I picked super risky (and kinda stupid, I have three Seahawks players on my bench; picked up both Rice and Baldwin because I don't know who's gonna be the #1). I basically don't care if I lose the first couple weeks. Hope AP gets to form after a couple of weeks. In the meanwhile I'll start CJ2K and Turner and do whatever's necessary in Flex (most likely D. Will or Wayne for now). Thoughts?
QB: Schaub WRs: DeSean Jackson, Vincent Jackson RBs: Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson Flex: Michael Turner TE: Jacob Tamme K: Josh Scobee DEF: Detroit
Bench: D. Will, Reggie Wayne, Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin, Felix Jones, Russell Wilson, Steve Smith (STL)

Teams looks good and I admire your ambition to try and crack the WR spot in Seattle. Though with Tate's recent, still uncertain of injury from the last preseason game. I give more ups to Braylon Edwards. Hearing a lot about him and Wilson having great synch. Their receivers aren't bad, just a lot of injury and a base of uncertain on who will be the guy.
