His interceptions made me cringe though. But even as a complete homer I can't fathom how close we are to a playoff position. I had us at 8:8 at my most optimistic before the season started.

I am truely impressed with Colts and company. I thought they were a 4 wins max team this year but them going 8-4 so far is a total surprise. With their teams left on their remaining schedule i see them totally making the playoff.

Alright, so after thinking about it for a bit, I think Kaepernick still starts next game. Fumble aside, he finished 21/32 for 208 yards, and another 84 yards rushing. He had some pretty sweet throws, too. His accuracy is uncanny. Add in all of the drops, and Kaepernick has at least another 30+ yards and a touchdown. It wasn't a great performance, but it wasn't one that solely cost the Niners the game. Bad play calling, dropped balls, horrible offensive line play, offensive penalties, and more suckage from Akers all took their toll. As for the safety, it shouldn't have been called. In fairness though, Kaepernick did not do a good job reading the blitz on that play. He shouldn't have been running around in the end zone to begin with.

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the Rams came to play. Their defensive front was particularly excellent, and the coverage was remarkably tight downfield. It should be noted that Kaepernick was generally good with his decision making in terms of not throwing the ball into situations where it was likely to get picked off.

In sum, there were some rookie mistakes by Kaepernick. There will be some additional ones going forward. The issue is whether Kaepernick's upside offsets the risk of those mistakes. Given how he has played so far, I'm inclined to say that he should still be the starter.

Face it the problem with that game was kaep mostly, his play action sucks and he read the defense like a rookie, he couldn't pick up on the blitz to assign extra blocks etc, nor could he read the defense when to run the ball, all the run plays looked pretty much designed run plays. Also akers didn't lose us that game asking for a 50 yarder out of a kicker to win the game is never a good sign for the offense, that was a 50 yarder when we started on their like 45 barely got 20 yards out of the drive. He's athletic but he's still too inexperienced in this sort of offense. The safety is to blame on kaep you don't drop back 20 yards deep in order to avoid the sack then throw to get rid of it deep into the benches ofc it got called a safety without review no way the refs could tell. Kaep is going to ruin the season, if they want kaep do it when we don't have a chance at superbowl run, if we play against any complex defense like the rams, like the saints kaep isn't going to make the right calls. It's still obvious he is learning.

Bottom line is you don't put in a rookie un-experienced qb while your team is in the super bowl hunt. As athletic as CK is it's disgusting watching his game and time management. I can't vent enough about how poor his clock management is. LOOK AT THE GAME CLOCK FOR GOD SAKE. I have to agree with starting Alex Smith at qb. CK is young give him the team next year. Maybe i'm a lil pissed off at the fact that CK is killing my Frank Gore in my FF league too. haha

No you shouldn't have. It got passed funny in the first half and just became unbearable to watch. 7 interceptions between the two QBs in ONE HALF? Ugliest offensive game I've seen from two teams in a seriously long time.
