Carlos Rogers is returning to the 49ers! Thank you based god!

Careful what you wish for. For all you know he may have given up his contacts over the off season since he was so successful last year and you might have full on Carlos Stonehands Rogers coming back.

=/ he's still a great cb even if he does take a football to the face from time to time. If he loses his hands next year he won't be as good, but he'll still be better than a lot of the scrubs that start in the league right now (see: Dallas' secondary... do they even have a secondary right now?)

Carlos Rogers owns, even with cement hands. Dude fits in perfectly for what they do. He's not the best in the league or anything, and def got burnt by some better wrs, but he does his job quite well.

They had the second most cap space in the league at well over 40mill? That's a 9.5mil per year contract for Nicks, not even a fourth of the space they had going into this year and that's without any restructuring.

He deserves it. He is just sooo good and he seems like a good guy too from what I have seen of his public persona.

Bucs have been like $30-40M under the cap for as long as I can remember. This is the first time they're actually bothering to sign players with it.

I hope the Bucs fail in all their decisions as a Falcons fan (and I hope Curtis Lofton doesn't sign with them so I don't have to hate him) but ownership looks like they're finally serious about getting some talent.

Problem with Bucs, they signed Eric Wright for like 5yr/40m.... what a joke.

Mario Williams is a bill. His contract was like $100m with $50m guaranteed. Hot damn.

I am assuming that he didn't re up with Houston because they couldn't afford??

The bills got a pretty tight front four now... Hunter and Sanchez are gonna get absolutely demolished next year

Godamnit, now the Falcons have to overpay for John Abraham or risk having no pass rush at all.

Why Mario why...

I think the only signing that have shocked me on a "what is that player thinking" level have been the Orton (3 years in Dallas) and Campbell (1 year in Chicago) signings. Both could easily compete for a starting job at a number of teams once the Peyton Manning sweepstakes are over. Instead both basically signed on to be a backup QB unless an injury occurs. Both took clear-cut backup roles when I think they should have held out to see where the chips fall.

Chargers got Hardwick, Meachem, Gaither, Johnson, McClain for just .65 million over the cap space that VJax took up. That's a steal imo. Meachem is impressive and we're definitely gonna give him more chances to make big plays than he got in New Orleans, he'll definitely be a good fit here.

I'm optimistic. Not happy about sticking with Norv but I think AJ did better with this deal than freeing up a ton of cap space just to grab Williams or anything like that. All we really need now is a pass rusher.

Felt pretty bad about the Chargers FA until today. If we get Royal as well, I think we might finally be back up to form to dominate the AFC West again. I'm not worried about Manning in Denver, we've always smoked the Colts and I doubt he will be playing as well as he did a few years ago.

I just don't think this is the right year for Orton to grab a starting job. It's smart. You have Manning and Flynn on the market. You've got Luck, RG3, Tannenhill in the draft. Tebow could end up somewhere else and he's the one who took Orton's job int he first place. If he does well as a backup with the Cowboys he could really improve his stock to land a starting job somewhere. Either way, The Cowboys are gonna get a nice trade for it when his contract is up.

Yea but Orton's contract is for 3 years. That's a long time to sit on the bench. At least Campbell's contract is a 1 year deal.

I agree with all of this. Both have enough skill to start on a team, at the very least for a team trying to wait out a year for a kid to take over

Romo is injury prone. The 3 year contract makes me think they might be trying to light just a little fire under Romo. I don't see any issue with letting the guys compete for the position and if they end up wanting to put Romo on the bench for a few games like the pack had done with Aaron Rodgers, Orton could really step up like Flynn or just fizzle out. Dunno.

EDIT - Looks like we're picking up Eddie Royal. Making plays on punt returns here we come. Rivers just has too many weapons now, GG AFC West.

Niners talking with Manningham and Brandon Lloyd. Looks like they're serious about upgrading the disaster that was their wideouts.

Personally, I'd prefer Manningham. Probably comes cheaper and has more room to grow. I think Lloyd probably has another year or two in him at that level, and he's a field stretcher in the same role as Moss.
