Sure the UI is a bit clunky for a PC interface but that's about it. The game runs better, looks better and feels better on the PC. Once the mods start flowing in after the Skyrim workshop is released through steam the game is going to be even more incredible. And yes, modability and replayability should factor into this decision, no game released this year will end up as customizable, or as deep as Skyrim. LOL the UI isnt just a "bit" clunky it's complete trash. and the game isn't really that deep the world is just really big lol

Anyways, Skyrim wins. Quality of game + lack of anything similar this year + massive sales.

My pick would either go to Rift or LoZ:SS If I based it on hours /played, Rift would be my pick(50+ hours on my first session).. But I haven't finished LoZ:SS yet, so maybe i'll it enjoy more. It is a zelda game afterall, a amazing one.

Can't pick one over another though, they all deserve accolades for various reasons. Lots of other games missing from these polls too, how about Shogun:Total War? Or Dragon Age 2? Skyrim will win I guess just because it's fresh in peoples mind, good game, but I wouldn't give it goty simply because of it's horrible interface, everything an interface could do wrong, it did wrong. Portal 2 practically "perfect" as far as games go, although personally I didn't like the reduced difficulty compared to the first game. Bastion is totally under-rated, best story of any game I've played this year. Terraria was just fun, plain and simple, everything I ever wanted from a sidescroller when I was young, and that 16-bit feel really took me back to those days. Limbo just had great atmosphere, best way I can describe it is braid, but turned up to 12. So yeah, all good games, hard to pick one over another. Played many other games of course, but these just stood out for me by far. Like, in 5 years time I think I will be able to look back and remember these games (and probably LA Noire) and remember them very fondly.

Asylum has better atmosphere & holds up pretty well in other aspects.

1.portal 2 2.dues ex 3.skyrim i picked portal 2 because even though it was short. i had probably the most fun playing it. Deus ex had a very intriguing story and love the gameplay. Not even finished with skyrim so i cant tell much about the game. Its so huge that its hard to finish and i like exploring.
