I still haven't fathomed monk healing yet it confuses me....You can heal via dps'n it seems and using the free cast with heavy damage, but i have only leveled one up to 66 at the moment and have had 0 trouble in dungeons. Might be a different story when i get to heorics etc but i have no problems with them so far. Best Healers are; Priest Druid Paladin Shaman Monk IMO, but Priest is like miles ahead as the best class in Panda. DPS burst is fucking insane for PvP and DPS in general is competitive PVE, and the healing for both PVP and PVE is just stupidly good. i have looked at some statistics and it seems that holy priests and monks have the highest troughput on the raid in most cases. Especially discipline priests fall off quite hard once the damage gets really high and they cant "steal" all healing via shields. I have a 70 monk right now, ill level a priest second. Trying out the monk before i submit to Chakras :D Also, i agree that servers had better communities once there wasnt autogrouping, but being matched for dungeons and being able to start a dungeon within 5 minutes also has its upsides.

Monks pretty much tank healers though. There aoe healing is limited to uplift and the totem thingy and throwing healing spheres everywhere xD But yeah play both and try the difference, the best way

Is there anything similar to a scroll of resurrection (ie. the level boost to 80) that doesn't require an inactive account that has been inactive since March 2012? I have an old account I bought the Battle Chest for (for legitimate WC3, mostly) but that was April 2012 so I missed the cut off point.

I stopped playing toward the end of Sunwell in TBC, Our guild got relatively 'stuck' on Muru - I think we got him once. Not long after, they released a giaaaaaaant nerf hammer on Sunwell and it all became trivial again. That was pretty much when I realised that the amount of effort to stay ahead of the 'nerf curve' wasnt really enough for me to want to keep playing/raiding. Loved my time playing it, but as others said, the original realms etc with 'elite players' that had an almost legend/myth behind them... you'd occasionally see them port in from a raid dungeon you havent even seen yet and idolise their character before they went off and werent seen for another week or so. It just made it seem more like a real scenario, rather than a heap of nobodise with random alts and shit all floating around namelessly queuing for crossrealm dungeons. I was one of those people back in the day, and it was fun. ![]() Then dailies came in to the picture. I hated dailies. Heroic modes of bosses were really lame. It was hard to muster any sort of raid team to work on heroic modes of bosses they had already killed. I ended up quitting half way through WOTLK, along with many of the other guilds and runs on our server. Even after I quit and was still running our mass server PUG, the eventual nail in the coffin was the LFG tool. It's definitely good and bad, but it took away some of the epicness of raiding. I think what I miss the most is just having to work on something. Rather than do the same 30 daily quests over and over grinding reputation, I'd rather have to do a big quest chain going through various dungeons to get attuned to a new area. When you finished, you had a sense of accomplishment. Even if you were casual, it gave you an end point to work on over time. I started playing PVP again for MoP and it's not bad. I can't get into raiding at all though anymore, even though I used to love it. I don't touch daily quests so I can't get reputation gains to buy PVE epics. I enjoy doing dungeons a lot, but I really don't need any of the gear anymore. Raids with faceless people are really boring too... I haven't made any new friends since I started playing again. It seems like everyone is anonymous and just does group things by themselves. It doesn't feel a lot much of a social game anymore.

Only druids suck these days, but thats because every other class is not worried about going oom anymore and just spams heals so the druid hots dont even have time to heal someone.

Name me one good Hardcore-MMO... Eve Online. Spreadsheets online? Anyway, don't feed the troll, he'll just say he doesn't like any game that you put forth as an example either to be a dick or because he just doesn't like MMO games at all (or both). Personally, I've had a bunch of free time over the last month and have used it playing The Secret World, which is basically WoW-lite. Fairly enjoyable if monotonous.

I like the tank gameplay, but the whole theme with throwing kegs is irritating. Mistweaver is...well. It heals for a LOT, but you cant really react to damage, you have to allready have the mists on the target that take heavy ae damage. I dont know, i didnt like it that much. Leveling a druid now, who are kind of behind a bit in healing, but by the time i catched up, who knows :D
