Doesn't everybody kinda follow this logic of buying the important stuff first and then seeing how much you got left and getting the best thing you can afford?

I still bought the galil after winning the pistol round on maps like dust2, but now i pretty much always buy the ak+kevlar immediatly because a lot of people just forcebuy pistols + helmets nowadays. Kinda risky of course but i try not to have close range fights and i don't lose it most of the time, or a team mate just picks it up. I just like being able to 1 shot people ^^ As for regular buys when i have less than 3700$, i will just buy tec9+kevlar+nades until they nerf that stupid pitol, then 'ill go back to galil :D

My logic is similar except smg and I always look around before I buy to see what my team does. My first criteria is to decide to eco or not. If it is not the second round after pistol and I can't afford an armor+rifle, mostly I go armorless p250. If I am rich enough to have 3k more than anyone around, I might buy a few more things. Sometimes I get mad and buy swag7 with a smoke & pray the enemy to make a dumb move. Sometimes it works. I think I buy p250 for all cases except dead broke CT which guarantees 2 full eco anyways. I never buy a strong weapon after winning a pistol. A few lucky shots and you may lose an immense advantage imo. Rather I buy the cheapest smg and ratatata farm $. Giving away a strong weapon is too dangerous.

The way i see it is you wanna have close range battles with your smgs, but if they forcebuy, not only they suck vs helmets, but their pistols one shot you in the head so they have the advantage if you both HS at the same time. That won't happen with the AK. And again when i do buy it i go mid on most maps, or anywhere i'm confident i won't get caught off guard. Yes i lost rounds this way and gave them an AK, but i also won rounds we would have lost without it. It's a gamble, just a personnal preference. Anyway i don't do that all the time, mp7 is pretty good these days i heard so i buy it as well sometimes :D

But they also do buy aks still, or even galils (for example in fnatic vs tsm at pgl finals last week.) I'm not even arguing it's the wrong choice, i'm just saying i prefer going for an AK, and the TL guys i play with mostly always buy smgs, and pick up my ak when i fuck up :D

Since a buy from CT after a lost pistol round will cost you another extra eco round. Maybe it is kind of a rock/paper/scissor case which players mind game each other to guess smg/rifle/armor/eco situation and try to benefit most. Disclaimer, I am not even good let alone best

In my opinion it's risky to spend all your money on an anti eco, as a rifle doesn't give you a big enough advantage against pistols to justify being on a full eco if you lose the round (with the exception of the AK, but as T it's even more risky as you can get instagibbed at corners). But it's a situational choice and a matter of preference, plus top teams might choose to buy rifles because they know their mates have their back and they are not going to lose them easily, thing you can't expect in MM and pugs most of the time ![]() Yeah i won't ever buy an m4 over and smg as ct in this scenario, some pros still buy famas, crazy. Its true i should be even more careful doing that when im solo queuing though

One thing I do is I screw around with burst fire on the famas depending on what angle I'm holding. Sometimes at longer range I'll turn on burst fire, like when I'm playing banana and I'm playing car I can pop up on either side of car, and use that to my advantage to pop up and fire a burst then retreat either towards sandbags or b side, or just duck down and get ready to shoot again if I'm feeling confident. If I think I need to switch to full auto I do so for the ability to do regular spraydowns and such. I can use nades, flashes and smokes to retreat or setup for more shots. To be honest idk if this is a better strategy than just passively holding angles or using an SMG, but I like it a lot better.

The only other positive thing about the famas that I can think is that the barrel doesn't stick out like the m4 does so you can hide round corners more easily, but that's not why you would want to buy a rifle for after winnin the first round.

I don't see the point of buying a relatively expensive gun if it can't even kill properly at long range and has an wierd spray pattern at medium range. Compared to the galil it is weaker, and more inaccurate and more expensive. The only reason to buy it is that it is a rifle cheaper than the m4. Burst mode is bad. You woul be better off firing 3 shots manually instead. Yeah Famas is kind of frustrating, you can headshot-bodyshot someone with it and they'll still only take like 92 damage if they have armor. Sometimes when I don't have enough for the M4 I just buy a 5-7 and full nades and hold a close angle, or maybe grab an UMP. Not that I actually play at a high level (GN3). Edit: Also does anyone know what that enormous update was all about?
