It sucks because now that I am ranked I cannot play with them, it says the skill difference is too big... How long does it take to rank up to a rank that can play with AK rank if I win like 80% of the games and usually have best stats on server? Also what counts when ranking up? Just wins/losses or also K/D ratio? Just wondering because sometimes I get bored and play SSG only and have worse stats.

The point is that you're only going to lose if you aren't as good as you think you are or an even better smurf is only the other team (which is actually pretty likely). I have also lost several games to smurfs in the past weeks where they trolled the entire game.

If you win 80% of your games and usually have the best stats, it shouldn't take that long. Maybe a week or 2 depending on how much you play, maybe less, it's hard to say. I couldn't tell you exactly what counts when ranking up but it's a lot of stuff apparently (at least according to Valve). The better you play, the easier it will be to rank up. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you can play with friends that are like 4 ranks max higher than you, but I'm not 100% sure. Forgot to add, if you want to rank up faster, try to play with people that are higher ranks than you. In my experience, it's helping a lot when you want to rank up.

Prove it. Fucking sick of these degrading comments despite being AK+ myself. Looking at replays on my smurf account (back when it was silver 1), me and a stack of 5 managed to beat the other team by simply knifing and limiting ourselves to only the first clip of the starting pistols (so if you used all 20 bullets of the glock, you had to throw it away and just knife them). We won 16-5 when we tried that. So yes it is possible to do. On January 11 2015 00:28 NihiLStarcraft wrote: Quick question, after Adren's recent video about T default positions on D2, I've tried to lurk a bit more. Several times in my games yesterday, I was behind the boxes in upper dark (tunnels), just waiting quietly while my teammates took A. Then I often got very easy kills when CTs where rotating after the bomb was planted and rushed too much to check corners. This seems like a good way to play but I also got 'criticism' from my teammates (the russians that never said anything suddenly can scream into their mics) for not helping out. So what do you do/recommend in solo-queue? Be tactical and lurk or just screw it? How do we win games on T side? We execute into sites, get the bomb down and defend it. For matchmaking/solo queueing, If you are not actively working towards that goal, then you're being useless. I would much rather be actively be the guy making entry frags and get the bomb into site than playing pick and roll or lurking (since lurking isn't as effective in soloQ as it is in an actual competitive setting). besides everyone wants to lurk on t side cause it's easy as fuck, no one wants to be the playmaker who actually wins games. Save me some headaches and be the playmaker guy . "I was able to hang with my 2 star friends and my ak rank friends!!!!11!!!" Yea, cause they probably don't know what they were doing and you most likely got carried. Looks like I'll have to reiterate my explanations for how to view the ranking system the proper. The point of having ranks is to segregate people into brackets so that the system places people into matches where they will have equal games. Smurfs are a problem but it'll balance over time. Cheaters are bad but all cheaters are in badge+ so the cheating angle is irrelevant for you. So, let's talk about the ranks. You are placed in silver 2 because you play like a silver 2, you perform like a silver 2, and you act like a silver 2. If you clearly deserved to be in a higher rank, then you will be there. But, luckily for you, this means that you have so much to learn, so much to work on and get better. this isn't a time to whine and complain and be a bitch, it's time to hunker down and get better. In order to actually rank up (assuming that you care about a shiny icon next to your name), it's important to realize that you first must improve before you rank. Sure, I could let you play on my badge account for a month and you'll most definitely derank all the way down. I know this because you in a sense did this already in your 10 ranking games. at this point in time, it's not going to matter what account you use as clearly you're only silver 2. So, how do we make good of this? for one to rank up, one must first realize that to rank up, he has to improve first. So, if you are silver 2, first you must improve to the point where you are silver 3 materials (this is super easy to do). Once you managed to train yourself to that, get better only then will you naturally rank up. This is mostly a mental/attitude block that blocks people from ranking up/actually getting better in the long run. and you repeat this process on and on and on until you become pro. You start at silver 2 get good, rank up to silver 3, get good, and repeat process. You have an abundance of resources available out there to help you; you have us, reddit, pro players' streams, and more. All of this for you to take advantage of. But this will only help if you realize that you are there for a reason and that it's not a bad thing at all as what matters the most is your attitude and your mental disposition to the game On January 11 2015 05:43 Striker.superfreunde wrote: Can you guys share with me your thought on ct side as igl? I`m more confident as t and ct side can be quite frustating. i love my akI won't speak for the competitive side of strat calling since i am not the strat caller on my team, but i'll speak for the matchmaking side of IGL. If you are going to take the role of IGL, you first must realize that the best way to get people to play well is to let them go where they want to and work around that. Generally speaking, people will call out during pistol round where they want to go. Let them do it and call the last general spot where no one is going. So for inferno, there's always 2 dudes that want B site and always that dude who wants to go ham in apartment. Let them have it even though those are your best spots as your focus is not details of your personal play, but rather how the team plays. 2ndly, pay great attention to mini map and to what the players are calling out. This is for all roles, but for IGLs, your decision making is based off this so always encourage players to be actively talkiing. 3rd. when making calls, be short and concise. For example, Ts smokes off mid at inferno and arch where you are. banana looks clear. Call "1 B rotate arch, I'm going to library/site". Don't call "Can i get 1 b dude to come over to help me out?". Good leaders are affirmative and consie in their calls/actions. 4th, learn what the enemy team can and will do and what their actions leads to. So for example, same scenario t's smoke mid and arch. banana was clear. It's 2 things. First its a porch side take of a or B) fake to B. So our case and judgement, we read that and start making calls to counter-act it. However, don't be way too specific and for the love of god, don't micromanage people. everyone fucking hates that. When you are making calls, be supportive, don't be rash. Remember, this is as much as a mental game as it is a physical game. IGL for matchmaking isn't bad nor that hard to do, but note that being a good IGL requires you to be good at the strategic part of csgo and good at reading opponents. Actually now that i think about it, watch Dazed's and steel's streamed matches; Note how they are leading their teams and how they make their calls based on how they read the enemies. They're good IGLs for a reason so it helps to learn from the best

Save me some headaches and be the playmaker guy .I'm real fucking bad, but I find it so much easier to roam/lurk as T rather than go with the team, because going with the team invariably results in at best a 5 on 5 battle at best, but typically a 3 on 3 retake or something where the team doesn't check angles or can't shoot or whatever. It's like this: Dust_2, because 90% of my games are on Dust_2 Team : "Hey lets rush B" Team : "Sick yea lets do it" Outcome A: they've got 2 people on site and nobody on my team smoked/flashed and we trade evenly running through tunnels, or CT screwed up and sent noone to B, in which case we're faced with a 5v5 retake where we've probably got 1 person behind cars (just because), two people looking window, one looking door, and one either lurking mid or lurking tunnels. It's theoretically an advantageous position because time is on T's side, but typically at least one angle is not being watched even if we've got 4 people on site. If I could count the number of times I've died to being shot in the side of the head because the guy watching B tunnels got bored and looked mid instead... Outcome B: I pressure long A with an AK or scout and force 1-2 people to stay on site or get the opportunity to rotate CT spawn / mid to help defend B site, assuming my team takes it. We also get more intel for the team on where their dudes are. Team : "We got rekt B, we have 2 shotguns, let's go long A" Team : "Yeah that seems like a place on the map lets do that" Outcome A: Everyone goes long A and we get stalled in pit, because pushing long A is hard without AWPs or decent aim. Outcome B: I smoke and lurk mid, where I can rotate catwalk or mid if my team gets stuck in pit, or cover mid if my team takes site. Silver is always like... the first 30 seconds is T side determining where we will fight, and then a fight happens there and the round ends. I've been playing most of my games lately pressuring somewhere else, and it's had me topfragging and winning a lot more than usual because you force the enemy team to check angles as they rotate, and I'm finding that most of the time people don't. If I play "with the team" I'm usually just the first one around the corner and thereby the first one to die, OR I'm behind my team and can't flash/smoke for fear of just fucking my own team up, so I'm much more inclined to apply pressure elsewhere to force the other team to do shit. CT tho I'll just go wherever there's a hole to fill. Usually mid, because people highly undervalue holding mid.
