Is it actually illegal to throw matches? o_O imo I'd be all up for teams suing matchfixers.

If the ELO cut for GN3 is 1500 and you drew one then lost one and suddenly fell down to 1490, obviously you'd derank. Someone linked an article about it like a month ago that went into quite a bit of detail.

Yeah but having to go on a 10-game win streak to rank up, then draw one, lose on close game to derank is just BS. It's demotivational and absolutely unfair. If it was a clear ELO system like that, then why do I have to win so much more to rank up. I just won a game, does it rank me up again? Nope. Hell I guess I just shouldn't soloqueue anymore, since I'm on EU which is suicide, nothing but russian-speaking trolls...

Besides, if you want to play real csgo, matchmaking is a terrible place to play. Yeah that's a good attitude to have. Will adopt it! ![]() BTW I wonder how much of an effect the common language on NA has in regards to the difficulty playing on the server. I know you can have Mexicans/Brazilians etc. not speaking English on NA but on EU it's literally a hell hole atm. As I said, nobody communicates even if they have mics because everybody speaks a different language. When I look at American streamers it always seems so much nicer, you can still have douchebags but at least you can talk to them. Whenever I queue I just get Russians over and over again.

Otherwise... haven't had an issue with it lately, so that's pretty cool.

Also, when I solo queue in matchmaking, my focus is almost never to win the game, it's to work on things that i notice from my scrims/matches that i need to work on (for example, i need to work on staying alive when i hold a place solo or at least get really good at delaying pushing Ts so that my team can rotate). This kind of things you can do in matchmaking since you don't need anyone to help you out and you can use the matchmaking game to also practice smokes and flashes, etc. It's why I almost never get mad at terrible players trolls because it's matchmaking, there's no reward or benefit of having a special rank (also explains why I play matchmaking really loosely since i'm not worried about others but rather what i'm doing and what i need to work on). Then, with whatever i worked on, i can bring it to my team practices and can refine it further for when it matters. All of the above advice works if you find a team to join or start one, and start playing in leagues (cevo/esea open divisions, etc). Also, if you feel burnt or frustrated from CSGO, just take a break. No need to destroy your love of the game for something as silly as stress of a matchmaking game (No CSGO leagues have a rank requirement and no one cares about matchmaking ranks, but rather your actual skills and what you bring to the table)

When I derank it doesn't matter because either it's normalizing or you'll bitchslap most of the next few teams you'll play against and at some point you'll get smashed 16-2 and then you'll win 16-4 and none of it makes any god damn sense.

What should matter is the matchmaking system's ability to put you in games that are around your level, and it fails fucking miserably at that. 80%+ of my games are complete stomps one way or the other. The losing team has on average 4-5 rounds. It's pathetic. At least 1-3 players per game are smurfs who should obviously be a few ranks above us. I've always had a pretty good experience solo queuing... Had maybe one cheater in 65 games... Very few stomps, a LOOOOT of 16-13 or 16-14 even 15-15 ![]() ![]()
