Yes it is brand new, its not even fully released yet...besides, its brand new to me and tens of thousands of other people who just started playing all at once last night.

Major problems with Source: * Hitboxes were wonky as shit, clear headshots did not register. Aiming skill was not a big concern since hitboxes were screwed anyway. * Spraying while running was actually not that bad. It was very easy to get kills with submachine guns without using proper bursts. For those reasons, among others, like faster running speed, made the game way easier for newbs to do well in, while good 1.6 players had a hard time adjusting since it was usually better to just run and spray than play properly. Major problems with CS:Go: * Digits changed in the buy menu, wtf. * There's TRASH on the maps!!!!! Seriously, that would be like if they released a new starcraft for people who disliked SC2 compared to BW, and the complains turned out to be stuff like "Marines walk faster now!" and "The new Reaver costs 5 more minerals WTF!?"

People who compain that csgo movement "isnt like 1.6" dont realize that 1.6 movement was also super shitty when updated from 1.3>1.5>1.6. Then people got used to it and a bunch of cs newbs started playing in 1.5/1.6(like you) and automatically think its the best thing ever. Like I said, stick to the 12 year old engine and game, its not going anywhere. I still think 1.5 is the best version of CS but that is just me. :X

Completely agreed. As far as gameplay goes, this game is much closer to 1.6 in terms of recoil/movement than source.

I'm not having the same fun with go as I had with the old cs versions, but that's not because cs:go is bad in any way. I've gotten old and really shitty at fps, I don't care for graphics so they're not an improvement for my experience, none of my friends are playing go. I think people's expectations were a little nostalgic. You won't be able to relive your past experiences with a new game (or an old game really). CS:GO is as fun as I expected it to. I like the GUI improvements that make it easier to find a decent server. The game feels different from cs 1.6 but not in a bad way. Is it worth 10€/12$/whatever small amount? Absolutely, without a doubt. It may not be cs 1.6 and maybe you won't be playing this for years, but it's 10€. Seriously.

Personally, I really liked beta 5.2 There were a shit ton of oldschool hostage maps that completely disappeared in newer versions. Good times.

Rates rate 35000 cl_cmdrate 200 // this will be autoreplaced with current max (128) cl_updaterate 200 // this will be autoreplaced with current max (64) cl_interp 0 // this will be autoreplaced with current min (1/64) Binds bind KEY "buy XXX" KEYS ... same as in CS 1.6 (examples: KP_PLUS, KP_5) XXX ... again same in CS 1.6 (examples: vest, weapon_hegrenade, weapon_smokegreande, weapon_flashbang, ak47, m4a1, awp, usp) Crosshair Experiment with numbers, these are what I currently use: cl_crosshairthickness 1.2 cl_crosshairsize 5 And of course dont forget to switch to Classic cross in Game settings. Console Yes. I mean, yes, there is console in CS:GO, it's last option in Game settings, something like Enable in-game Console. Video settings I recommend just maxing everything to the point you are above 100 FPS, there is no advantage of small resolutions like in 1.6, so I just use all max and native resolution 1680x1050. Size of text/HUD hud_scaling 1 That is to the settings, now I'd like to talk a little about in game stuff. Recoil Don't start to panic when you can't hit shit, it's because you've played 1.6 for too long ![]() Audio Audio is a little bit fucked in the game, but it's not that bad. You can still hear direction of the sound, just the distance is fucked right now imo. I mean it sounds like a guy is 10 miles away, so you look and he's behind corner, I think this is gonna be fixed soon. Walling Do not wall on purpose. And I mean it, most of the time it won't work, but... if you shoot at enemy and he hides behind corner, keep shooting trough corner, since it's gonna work, trough middle of the wall it doesnt work, but corners do. Movement Movement in CS:GO is more free, dont want to compare it to anything, but you should move much more in CS:GO than in 1.6. You can try doing O or 8 before you attack the enemy around the corner, the toon will respond more to your keys than in 1.6

On a positive note, 1 - Love the new Dust 1 and Italy (I'm more casual) 2 - LOVE the new radio messages. Especially GIGN. I speak French. They did a REALLY good job with these, in spite of a few beloved old phrases missing. 3 - Great visuals 4 - Love the UI style (except wish it was vertical for in-game scoreboard. Also the intro screens are pretty sweet! 5 - Love that more guns are viable 6 - Love the faster pace of the game 7 - Surprisingly I really like demolition mode. I really like the Lake/St Marc maps. 8 - Also surprisingly I really like the music. Not amazing but adds something to the excitement. It's amazing how good a game can be when the developer listens to the community (cough Browder cough)...=)

Check off where it says "enable developer console" and ` should open it right up after that.

Would like to hear some reviews from you guys what you think so far. Some guns are the same (MAC10, AWP, M4, Glock, USP) while others are drastically different (MP7 vs MP5, AK, Scout, Aug) It'll take some getting used to. I'm not a fan of the AK as every 3rd bullet is apparently a musket ball and goes in a totally random direction. I've actually had issues turning rapidly. Default sensitivity is still 6 for some reason. I turned it down to 3 for a bit which is okay. I can turn just fine normally, but trying to do a rapid 180 seems to be impossible ![]() The buy system is stupid. Rebuy remembers what you bought 6 rounds ago and buys that. What I want is only what I actually bought last round. Scripting does make it less shit, but I love my rebuy

Mouse accel fucks you up more the more you have to turn.
