Is this worse than the first borderlands from a single player perspective? I played much of the first game single player and I thought it was fine but reading so many players complaining for the sequel have me a bit worried.

I'm playing through single player my first time. So far it's only gotten bad if the weapons you have don't quite match up with your enemy types. I also play as axton so it's like having another player that helps res me and can attack.

Question for those of you who have made it deep into the game or maybe even beat it already. Is there any point in saving up money? I'm at level 10 and already have $6000 saved up. Aside from restocking on ammo I haven't spent any money at all. It seems pointless to buy weapons in a game where you continually loot better and better guns but if there's nothing else to buy then I may as well yes?

Use the sanctuary SLOT MACHINES!!!!!!! They are so much fun and that's where you will lose use all your money. Trust me it's hilariously fun and addicting.

I died to that slot machine once. ITS A TRAP

I have a question on the pre-load. I can't imagine that the game is just 4,5gb so my guess is that after release you need to download another big amount of data.

Because if i need another 10gb i'll try to stay up until the release for Europe happens (4 hours from now).

I'm pretty sure that the pre-load is the entire game.

Ok thanks, good to know. Because i read that you need 13gb free space (or something like that) to play the game.

Can I just say that Borderlands 2 is the best fps game of all time, bar none. I really can't think of a game that has more polish in a fps game.

It extracts after you pre-load and try to play, so it probably takes more space on the disk in useable format than the actual download of 4.5gb is. 13gb is probably way high though, the actual folder is just over 5, and saves are done through steam, so I doubt you need that much free space, other than it not being a good idea to completely fill your hard drive.

I still think there could be significant improvement for the PC version. I feel as if a lot of the menus (skill trees and inventory specifically) and UI in general could be improved. It's still as challenging as BL1 to compare items and navigate/view your entire inventory easily. As for the skill tree, you can't view the entire skill tree as well as mouse over to view the skill description, which is kind of key.

I would love it if someone made a mod to make Zero look like Zero. Who wouldn't want to be an uber-badass robot from the future with a lightsaber? That whiny wimp X can suck it.

Personally dislike the way the game handles with a mouse + keyboard so I stick with a controller and it feels perfect, which is no surprise considering its a console game.

As a PC gamer if you want to get the best experience you should invest in a controller for these types of releases.

While its nice if a game can be ported properly, often times its just not really practical or possible. When a game is built from the ground up for a console release you can't expect any different.

It's like expecting a muscle car to take corners well.

Uh what? Why would you EVER play an fps on the computer with a controller? You're nerfing yourself so hard it's not even funny. Controllers feel unnatural.

Wait what.

Everything about this is fine. It doesn't feel like a port nearly as badly as some other recent games (shooters too even)....

Ignoring the fact that the guy you quoted just tried to tell everyone that FPS games are best played with a controller....

The issue is the menu system. It's quite clunky and cluttered with a mouse. The skill tree is the worst one, for me, because the side menu obscures the left-hand tree. That makes it a (minor, but notable) chore to upskill anything on that tree, because you have to click twice instead of once and wait for it to recenter. It also continues to default to the middle tree even if I've so far put every single point into the hidden one. It's just little things like that.

That kind of thing is less of an issue on a console, because the console doesn't actually need to see the tree it's navigating to; you just tap the stick left and it goes. In addition, you need multiple actions to get anywhere anyway (stick left, down, down, down, accept), and so you're used to minor delays.

I technically played borderlands 1 a lot with controller, but only because I could sit way farther away from my computer, I definitely didn't do that when I played mordecai and am a big proponent of mouselook. I don't really have that many issues with the menu though(other than the fore/background thing is a little annoying and harder to see, kinda prefer the old menu), but I'm not using the mouse as much, I use wasd or arrows to navigate while I move mouse to what I want to click.

So I'm playing through BL2 as a Siren, and I was hoping for some feedback on my skill tree choices.

I can understand the gripes with the talent tree page. I will definitely echo that the "not defaulting to the tree you actually have points in" thing is extremely annoying. It's literally the only menu I've had issues with though.

Was the same with the first one honestly. There's no real replayability. I know you can do the different classes and stuff but the game itself is the exact same.

The game feels like Diablo 1 to me. It's a game I came back to a few times to play with a few friends, each time with a different class. And the first DLC was actually pretty good.

I'd never play it alone, however. It's probably the best coop game this year, no need to burn yourself out early.

thats is the replayability of the game, You won't enjoy the game solo more than once. This game thrives on having 1-3 friends join you for endless killing fun.

This is one of the cursed SMG's, it actually screams when you fire, and shouts annoying things at you in a high pitched voice.

Well played gearbox, well played.
