The original team located in Texas, USA is doing something called "Battleborn". the team that is 2K Australia and this studio developed the Bioshock series... with Irrational Games as lead studio for 1 and 3. And, 2K Marin was lead studio for BIoshock2. Borderlands is Gearbox's only home grown IP so I don't think they will put it in the hands of morons. http://www.gearboxsoftware.com/games Also, BL2 is 2K Games highest selling game of all time. So I also do not think 2K Games would let Gearbox and 2K Australia fuck the franchise into the ground. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/borderlands-2-is-now-the-best-selling-game-in-2k-s-history/1100-6418865/ When the game was first being developed , Randy Pitchford, the owner guy, said the game might not be given a $60 price tag because it was not big enough. Now its a $60 game with a $30 season's pass. So i think Gearbox corporate likes the game. I think they handed 2K Australia more cash to make a bigger game that could include DLC because they were impressed. Borderlands is Gearbox's "only child". They fuck over their customers on a regular basis with Aliens and Duke Nuke'm games.. This is with games for IP they do not own. I doubt they are going to fuck their customers over with the only IP they really own. But, i'm not pre-ordering because of their sketchy track record. Homeworld is not their own. They bought it from THQ when they went bankrupt. i think the next Borderlands game will be good but i'm waiting until its been out a few days to decide. as far "no new systems" goes. lasers, Oxygen required to survive outside. Tension between the 2 uses of Oxygen as a resource...1 for survival.. 1 for flight. 4 new characters with completely new play mechanics. 2 new play areas .. Elpis and the Hyperion Moon Base. Freezing enemies in order to 1 shot kill them.... new type of hover vehicle creating new kinds of vehicle combat... lots of new stuff... as far as "not enough content" "more content than BL1 and less than BL2" is the quote from Gearbox. If Pitchford is bullshitting Borderlands fans like he did Aliens fans... 2K Games will fire him. I don't think that is what is going on here.. i think it'll be a solid title made by a studio with a proven track record. To Buy Or Not To Buy? Gearbox has a sketchy track record. Pitchford has track record of being totally honest sometimes and a total liar other times... with this in mind... i'm waiting until its been out a few days to decide... i recommend others do the same. However, i think this will be a good game. | ||
