Makes sense yea, I always tried to not be higher than +6 levels from the map, because I think that was when the penalty really hit hard right? Needless to say, when I was 79/80 that wasn't really possible anymore

The EXP penalty is based on your level so even at 10 levels above you are going to be above 90% experience efficiency by the time you are at level 70 maps. It does drop off fast around that point though, 15 levels above the map is like 1/4 exp

I used to be quite good at racing, so I might check it out sometimes. I probably won't win a demi anymore though, there are people that are trying much harder and deserve it more anyway.

I never won a demi but came close multiple times. But now I'm out of the loop for quite some time. Not that I deserve one anyways but... I still might give the season a try because I have the time at hand.

I won like 5 demis, in 3 different seasons. But it was with Marauder, which wasn't exactly popular for Racing. Usually Goratha, Hybris and Throzz were ahead of me. Only race where I was #1 and ahead of every class was an Endless Ledge where I found Goldrim. Most of my other demis come from the old Descent, I think. I'm not that good at rushing Act 2/3 in the normal game so I always ended up 3-10th Mara there.

Yeah I played Mara as well and mostly ended up being 3. mara in vanilla races. And everytime I had a really good run, either Mors or Goratha appeared and beat me to it because they don't need a good run to beat my best. :D

But nah its quite good and you can actually respec fairly easily in most cases (unless you do like me and get all dmg nodes so then have to spend 30-40 respec points to do something else; woops~).

more like flavour of the year/2 years. ever since it got buffed way back in early 2014(?) it been a solid choice for lategame. you would think people grew tired of it already

Pretty much Evasion/ES characters are basically unplayable in HC at the moment. With how hard some of the mobs hit past 74 maps, it's ridiculous. Odin just died even with AA on and Bob with his 8k+ EHP pool has some close calls. Etup's probably the only one who hasn't been even close to dying to phys dmg, and that's just because he has the op coil/taste of hate combo.

3. Craft +1 sceptre

ggg still remains very clueless as how to actually balance the game. i wish they have someone that actually understands the playing aspect, levelling/mapping process (like icefrog of dota2) on the balance team. Overall impression is that they just use random GG equipped chars to quickly test things and let the playerbase take care of the rest of feedback, and even still they don't take player feedback very seriously until its too late.

Basically any spell build you get a quartz scepter (20% increased elemental dmg implicit) and craft +1 gem level on it (fire/cold/lightning depending on what skill you are using). Tis pretty strong. You can also use a chain belt to craft spell dmg on another one for your offhand. As Probemicro said the vendor recipes are good to learn, especially if you want to try out some of the races coming up soon!
