What are your guys' thoughts on the league? I'm not sure if I would say this is the best patch they've ever had, but I'm very thoroughly enjoying it. Usually I quit by now but I'm still grinding along Tota is controversial but ultimately I enjoy it. I really like having a chill downtime activity where I don't have to worry about dying, and tho the rewards aren't as good as mapping, its solid enough - the chance for chase big drops like +1 proj is nice I think the atlas is the best it has ever been, things are really rewarding right now. I really, really enjoy it, just a bit worried GGG will get nerf happy. This kind of reminds me of Ritual league | ||

Inflation is maybe the worst it has ever been. It's like 50-100% higher than last league depending on the item. Sanctum is vomiting out way too many divines and the unique relics they added just seem to exacerbate this problem. For me, it went core probably 1-2 leagues too early. I'm still burned out on the mechanic. Sanctum's profits need to be cut by 50-75%. TOTA as a concept is good, but its implementation is very poor. Like Sanctum, it prints money at high rating, but it's a huge chore to grind rating that high, generally requires hyper-specific cheese builds to do, has to be re-grinded on a new character, and often feels like a chore to run. It feels like you're forced to run Sanctum and TOTA because of the currency they print. They're really feeling a lot like Heist right now. The changes needed for TOTA are already well-covered so I won't rehash them, but GGG just seems to be stubbornly opposed and that doesn't bode well for its future as a core mechanic. I like tattoos. I would like to see them go core in some form, though I'm not sure they can just be wholly kept without being too strong. I think they could keep the no-requirement ones, and maybe the +1 max, but not the others. I still find the balance of 7 adjacent tattoos badly out of proportion. +1 proj vs 16% life regen or 8% flask effect is just wildly uneven. I also liked the Omen of Amelioration to reduce exp death penalties, which normally gets really obnoxious at 98-99. The rest of the omens are largely a miss for me and I won't miss any of them when they're gone. The atlas is generally fine. I still think there's a ton of room to improve on it. I would really rather see it redesigned to start the player in the middle so you're less forced to certain areas of the tree. Certain areas are just in Narnia and barely get used because of how far away they are. Gateways are often useless due to their point cost. I'm frequently pathing next to them, often on both sides of the same gateway, and it's no more efficient to actually use them. They could just let all gateways connect to each other. I hate Torment as a mechanic. I hate MF as a mechanic. I hate that they giga buffed things so that MF groups, which were already way too profitable, are now setting records for the amount of money they're flooding into the economy. My interest in the league at this point is very low, on par with Kalandra. Apart from Kalandra itself, this is the biggest disconnect I've felt with GGG's direction since I started playing. | ||

I really really like the small tatoos. I'd prefer it if they kept most tattoos but some hard limit on tattoo count omens are pretty good in HC. I think they could've been a lot more creative on it tho I really don't get your gateway issue. Dropped my first Sacred Orb of the league, dropped a whole fracturing orb a map or two later, decided to do some TOTA for the first time in two weeks, malded my ass off in the first tourny, got a full set of Doryani's Epiphany, the max cold res tattoo, and then my first ever Mirror of Kalandra. What the heck do I build with 900 divines? + Show Spoiler + | ||

I've looked at int stack wanders a few times, but they're just such glass builds and I usually make my builds more on the HC side of defenses. I'm probably going to do self-cast forbidden rite ascendant with fourth vow. I used fourth vow briefly last league, but I didn't really leverage it as well as I wanted at the time so I'm thinking to give it another go. This is my first pass on the build without most of the tattoos and a few too many points: https://pobb.in/78ihZSXtjkDU It's a bit lacking on avoidance, but I'm not sure what I'd change (probably could squeeze in Grace and/or suppression), but I might just see how it plays and adjust it from there. Also maps are certainly a pretty hefty difficulty spike. It has happened to me many, many times that I reach maps on a character and feel extremely squishy and/or lacking in damage, making me doubt my build. Usually my characters tend to feel a lot better after running some maps, gearing up a bit and gaining some more levels on gems and the passive tree, so dont fret too much! It's extremely easy to underestimate how much better a character will feel with a couple of slightly better items, gems up to 18/19 and level >75 compared to first reaching maps. =) | ||
